Anyone been watching his new series on Sundance Channel ? It is very good. Conversation an Performances with various artists.

So far he has had Lou Reed, Tony Bennet, Elton John, Bill Clinton, Rufus Wainright, James Taylor and The Police.

Yeah. I've also been meaning to start this thread for a while.

I'll expand this a little bit...My favorite part of the show is the beginning when Elvis and whatever band he is using that night perform a song from the artist that he is interviewing. My two favorites so far:

"Border Song" w/ Allen Toussaint and James Burton

"Femme Fatale"

The second season of "Spectacle" will start on December 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and it'll run for seven episodes. This time around, the guests will include Bruce Springsteen, Bono, the Edge, Neko Case, Nick Lowe, Levon Helm, Richard Thompson, and Allen Toussaint, among others.

That's a cool lineup, minus Bono and The Edge.

The couple of episodes I saw were really good, although Lou Reed was more incomprehensible that I imagined.

ugh, that reading of Perfect Day was fucking unlistenable, he put out some great stuff, but this whole "I'm too cool to be humble about my past and back catalog, so I'm just gonna fuck it up whenever I play it" routine is so goddamn annoying.

I can't wait to hear what he'll do with Bruce...Factory seems like a good choice.

He's much better at this than he is at singing. And I'm not denigrating his musical output, I mean, he's alright.

He's just probably should have done this instead.

I'm sure he appreciates the input, 35 years into his career.

I just mean his gregarious, amiable personality would have probably been more suited to this. There was never anything mysterious or cool about Elvis Costello, but I guess that was part of his appeal...

Except I don't think he would've been as good at it had he not been a rock star for 30 years and had the experiences he's had.

Him being cool is pretty subjective. I always thought he was and it's a different world now than when he first came out.

BTW, did anyone see that this finally got an official release 2 weeks ago after 30 years of bootlegs:

Yup.
But, gee... do you think that they might play "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding?"

Without me doing some websearch digging, is this available to watch online? Or is it getting a proper DVD release?

I'm all about seeing the Levon Helm ep.
