HAYWARD, Wis. (AP) — Shoppers in a Wisconsin grocery store got an unexpected surprise when a 125-pound black bear wandered inside and headed straight for the beer cooler.

The bear stopped Thursday night at Marketplace Foods in Hayward, about 140 miles northeast of Minneapolis, sauntering through the automatic doors and heading straight for the liquor department.

It calmly climbed up 12 feet onto a shelf in the beer cooler where it sat for about an hour while employees helped evacuate customers and summoned wildlife officials.

Officials from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources tranquilized the animal and took it out of the store. Store workers say the bear seemed content in the cooler and did not consume any alcohol.

We all just found out a co-worker died this weekend. Talk about out of the blue.

Is that still a thing? The ice cream MLB helmet? Because goddamnit, it should be.

At dodger stadium, they have these, plus they step it up a notch with full-sized batting helmets filled with popcorn...

Afternoon playoff games suck. I'm afraid to go to most of the websites I waste time on for fear of seeing the score.

Because it's owned by Ford, or because Sweden is the #2 USA wannabe behind Canada?

Mostly the Ford thing as I've never been to Sweden. Maybe in 2010.

Thanks. The weird thing is, he was one of those guys who everyone depended on but completely took for granted. He had no family, no real outside friends, I think he lived alone, etc. The next week is going to suck for the people in department as they try to pick up the pieces and make something happen funeral and belongings-wise. They called to try to get the body today, but it sounds like WV (where he lived) is kinda being a pain about it. Last thing we want is for him to go in an unmarked grave in Charleston, which is where unclaimed/John Doe types end up in WV.

On hold with Blue Cross Blue Shield. They denied coverage for the heel prick test my daughter had because she wasn't on my plan yet. She was 4 days old, and the hospital and pediatrician assured me it wouldn't be a problem.

I think the law is you have 30 days from birth to add them to the plan.

(Adding kids, really bumps any premiums you might pay.)

I remember mine going up about $400 or $450 a month.

I'm lucky that my employer pays for it all now.

Not nearly as funny as the one with the guy wanting to fuck a baby.
