I've got a bit of a quandary here. A QUANDARY!!!

There are two concerts next week I want to attend. Andrew Bird on Wednesday. Grizzly Bear on Thursday. My wife is very pregnant and has entered the stage where she could have the kid at any time. As such, I am only comfortable attending one show.

I'm hoping here's someone here who has seen both acts recently. Any advice on which show I should go to?

Andrew Bird and Grizzly Bear suck is not an acceptable answer since I don't think they suck.

This is not a poll because I fucking hate polls.

Grizz. That's probably because I've rediscovered their new album, but I think they are more interesting musically. I've heard Andrew Bird puts on on/off shows, so there's that too.

Grizzly Bear. I was nonplussed by Andrew Bird live, though it may have been circumstance (Bonnaroo), because I actually wasn't as impressed with GB as I thought I'd be. So this is a vote based on personal overall preference.

I adore Andrew Bird and will see him every time he comes around, no question. I've not seen Grizzly Bear, though, so there's that.

Andrew Bird. Amazing musician by himself or with a band behind him and Grizzly Bear's album is underwhelming. No doubt about it I would choose AB.

I really enjoyed Andrew Bird live. Can't speak to Grizzly Bear.

I don't think either of them would be a bad choice. I've not seen either but love both. If it were me I'd go with the grizz.

This could make all the difference. Who is opening for each act?

I've seen Andrew Bird twice - he was great both times.

I saw St Vincent a few months ago, and she/they were awesome.

I wouldn't miss this one.

based on your reasoning, you shouldn't go to either...or you should go to both...or maybe you should get a heads up from Cleo.

I've decided to see Andrew Bird. Most of my friends are going to see him and I would probably have to see Grizzly Bear alone. Still might try to catch the second show if possible.

Thanks for the input.

See a show alone...its really quite liberating.

Agreed, I prefer it for my favorite bands.

Yeah, I'm used to not having to worry about whether or not somebody else is having a good time at the show or attempting to answer musical questions during the performance.
It's great to have a significant other/random women at certain shows, but if it isn't going to piss off a girlfriend/wife, I always suggest going alone.

Saw Andrew last night solo with St. Vincent opening. I think St. Vincent may have stolen the show. Grizzly Bear hasn't played here in Buffalo yet so I can't compare/contrast...
