Yeah, when Keith was on, he was really on.

The story I guess though is that when he was fucked up or out of it he would just play the EXACT same thing that Jerry was playing (like note for note) which made Jerry hate him. Don't fuck with Jerry.

This thread is like a lot of parties I attended in college.

"Peggy O" is my song of the moment.

This is also a pretty sweet "Bobby McGee"

I was telling one of the guitar players in my band (who happens to be a huge Deadhead) about this project last night and even he was disgusted.

Both really laid back, Bobby McGee uncharacteristically so, Peggy-O oh-so slow.

It's really fucked up but fun and kind of disturbing at the same time.

You sorta have to to look at it like a project, or you'd never get through it.

One has to dissociate themselves from the horror they occasionally perpetrate.

Also, this first 'Playin' in the Band' is insane.

Employee A: Dude, another Dick's Picks? You're a Machine.

BossGAR: :Yep, we're going through ALL of them.

Employee A: Wow. (as he re-evaluates his decision to work here)

Around and Around was unreal. I haven't heard such enthusiastic vocals out them since Pigpen.

Weather Report Suite -> Wharf Rat is so far the best part of this all, outside of Playin'. Nice effortless sweet treatment of then-new songs.

The Jam out of "Let It Grow" was awesome but I didnt think Wharf Rat was very strong. Ditto U.S. Blues. Jerry's all over the place

True, not the most heartfelt Wharf Rat. I wrote too soon. Extremely sluggish Casey Jones. Pushing that train low on opiates.

This jam that started in Truckin' and is now in Space is turning my brain into hamburger. Seriously, I may have the palsy.

I have been pretty impressed with this middle section, but admittedly just got to the Jam after ahalf hour of Big River/He's Gone/Truckin.

I did enjoy everything post Wharf Rat to this point, actually. Wondering if I have the time to finish this bugger tonight.
