I've never felt the need to get a flu shot. Haven't been sick with the flu since I was a kid. Not that I don't get sick, I go through a handful of colds every winter without fail, but rarely is it the flu.

Now I'm second guessing. With this swine bastard picking up momentum, for the first time in my life, I'm wondering if I should get the shot.

What are you guys doing?

the flu shot and the H1N1 shot are 2 different shots......

i got the flu shot this year to be on the safe side. i got the flu last year and it messed me up pretty good. so i have nothing to lose.

i will get the H1N1 if and when it becomes available.

Wow! I'm not getting one, then, 'cause I don't want kids.

I'm basically SOL. They ran out of most of the flu shots/vaccines around here and far too many people I know have had symptoms and/or been tested for H1N1 for me to avoid being subjected to it.
I'm just hoping I avoid illness until after Halloween and when it inevitably strikes it doesn't cause me to get pneumonia like it has other people I know.

Got the regular flu shot...but still ended up getting pig flu....at least pretty sure that's what this is. So, if you're wanting a standard flu shot to avoid pig flu, not gonna help.

Rush's speaking out against the shot and advising his teabagging listeners to not get it for themselves or for their children.

Evolution wins again.

I got both the seasonal and H1N1 vaccines. I'd highly recommend everyone to be vaccinated for both when the vaccines become available.

Right now only high risk target groups are eligible for the H1N1 vaccine (health care workers, kids < 2yrs, kids 2-18 with chronic illness, pregnant women, elderly >65yrs), but once those groups are vaccinated it will be made available for everyone. There are no current restrictions on the seasonal vaccine other than availablity.

Don't believe the misinformation being spewed regarding the safety of the H1N1 vaccine---it was produced and tested over the same time frame as any flu vaccine given for decades and is as safe (or unsafe) as they have been.

i remember getting the flu shot, and then getting the flu for 3 years in a row. then i stopped getting the flu shot (it's been at least 3 years now) and haven't gotten the flu since. my mom says that's just a coincidence and always pesters me to get shots.

Got the seasonal and will be getting the H1N1 when there aren't 2 hour waits.

i've never had a flu shot of any kind, and am still unsure whether or not i will get one.

wife is pregnant and the kid is a week shy of 3, and both are still waiting for H1N1 vaccines to be available here. they've gotten seasonal already.

I too have never had a flu shot, despite the fact nearly every person in my family gets one or is required to get one for health reasons.
I annually get a bad cold, usually between Christmas and Valentine's Day, and it has never been the Flu.
I decided to get one this year after being sick twice in two months, since I certainly didn't want H1N1 or the nasty seasonal flu bugs that already started going around, but like I said no vaccines available to me.

I got it a couple weeks ago. I was at the doctor's because my shoulder was bothering me and on the way out they asked if I wanted one.

This was before I saw that video.

And as a physician, I doubt that's the only reason you decided to get it.
