I was just talking to the wife about this the other day.

Cause they're idiots I guess?

isn't the Hero OS just Android?

i have the myTouch 3G.

this is the hero OS --> http://intruders.tv/inqtv/2009/07/01/a- ... -htc-hero/

It's running on a Hero on that video, but that OS will run on your myTouch 3G and from what I've read it makes for a huge improvement.

I'm not sure if it's just android. I know it's a version, of android. When I was researching the Hero, the Hero OS was the newest available android OS and wasn't available to all android phones yet.

of course, I could be wrong. about everything

looks like a custom version of Android for the Hero. pretty damn nice i might add.

yeah i used to pay $10 a month to verizon for their navigator service but the upgrade for my omnia finally unlocked other services so i just use google maps now.

i just hate that it says "turn east" instead of "turn left", like they assume i have a compass on me.

I'm a left/right guy too. I rarely know which direction I'm heading so North/South/East/West doesn't really help me.

I wonder if Pierce Brosnan's voice is an option.

Even if I had something that was exactly like my Garmin (or better) on my phone, I would still use my Garmin.

I talked to a friend who used to be a Verizon rep...he said Motorola is TEH SuX0rz....so don't get my hopes up.

if your Verizon rep is referring to the Moto phones released after the RAZR, then he's partly right. They don't suck, but left a bit to be desired.

The Droid on the other hand is not only the highest quality smartphone Moto has created, it's the best Android driven device on the market, and the only one with 2.0. This teamed up with the Verizon network = fucking awesome, and you'd be silly for not testing it out Loog.

Just got a Garmin 765t for my birthday. After just two weeks, I don't know how I ever lived without a GPS.

It ain't gonna get thrown out any time soon. The andriod is a sweet phone and I do have blackberry/Iphone envy, but I can go eight hours without checking email or facebook. Cell phone data services and apps are too expensive on Verizon to justify the cost today.

Besides, I can drop my cheap LG phone on the sidewalk without freaking out. Try that out with all yer fancy Iphones...

I was talking to the wife...I'm going to wait for the reviews, but it's definitely going to be "cell phone Christmas" - whether we stick with this, or go iPhone. I am actually more than happy with the phone/txt functionality of my Blackberry Curve, but the internet browser/apps suck the shit out of my ass and then go 2 girls 1 cup.

You don't need a Motorola to get a phone with the Android operating system if that was your thought.
