I'm betting that there is a 100th record, and that it's going to be "Axis: Bold As Love", as I've been calling for since before the countdown.

Rumor from soundcheck: Sharon Jones is in the house.

I'm still going with Exile.

doubt they'd be that literal with a clue...

good show yesterday - phish-by-numbers 1st set, good 3.0 2nd – but th/trey seemed to abandon everything soon as it got good, esp DWD, Wolfman's and Hood.

Set I: Party Time, Chalkdust Torture, The Moma Dance, NICU, Stealing Time From The Faulty Plan, Stash, I Didn't Know, Poor Heart, Cavern, Beauty of a Broken Heart, Ocelot, Time Turns Elastic
Set II: Punch You in the Eye, Down With Disease> Prince Caspian> Wolfman's Brother> Piper> Joy, David Bowie, Harry Hood, Golgi Apparatus
Encore: Character Zero

Other than Trey's singing[sic] this is pretty great. They tore the lid off of "Torn and Frayed"

one day every show will be simulcast and we can do tour from the comfort of very our own sofas.

yail, what did you think of the non-Stones Phish that you heard? their jams have been mostly kept in check. thought maybe you'd like?

I haven't listened to everything but most of what I've heard sounds pretty good; I do agree with you that they are playing it pretty safe with this current incarnation but I thought the jams in "Ghost" and "YEM" in the third set went some nice places as did the jam out of "...Number Line".

I listened to the rest of the Exile set this morning and am beyond impressed: A stellar achievement.

And Fryxell: I'm upping S1 and 2 right now.

relistening to exile set right now, and equally cool with it. everything they do together, both units, sounds great. mind you, i don't know the album well, but i gather they do it justice. it's almost too effortless. no comparison to their interpretations of remain in light or loaded, but a really well worn costume.

what's more unpredictable is what they may do with this acoustic set today...

I might actually truly destroy my mind tomorrow and listen to this whole concgerk as well. I want to hear how Exile meshes with the rest of the sound right now.

Whole 3rd set was great. Light specifically was awesome, one of the first times I've heard the band push themselves to a new sound in almost 10 years? If they listen to what Page is saying and Trey rediscovers his toys instead of trying to recreate his notes, Fall '09 could be a spacey season.

man, i was just about ready to turn this off and coming real close to wanting to burn everything phish-related i own due solely to trey's singing. is it that different now or do i just have no patience for the guy anymore? i can't help but see his smug bearded smile in my head.

but then the above mentioned "torn and frayed" came on, and sharon jones came on, and the dap-kings came on and the set really started here. really impressed. made me miss the giant country horns shows.

not sure if i'm going to venture into the other sets though. was sharon jones involved in those at all?
