The other nights awful display by Liverpool FC against Lyon has
left me thinking perhaps too much about football for the last few days,
so it may be no great suprise that out of my head comes...
another record gallery! :D starting with some singles

[img][497:500]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football15.jpg[/img]
a picture disc or on clear red vinyl, decisions decisions.

[img][492:500]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football14.jpg[/img]

[img][499:500]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football5.jpg[/img]

From the 1971 squad who won the FA Cup that year, against Liverpool

[img][531:527]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football6.jpg[/img]

[img][528:511]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football1.jpg[/img]
scarce single by Stars, alas not the short lived Syd Barrett project

[img][498:500]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football11.jpg[/img]
Man Utd in the 80's

[img][536:528]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football13.jpg[/img]

[img][579:547]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football12.jpg[/img]
Man Utd in the 70's

[img][536:527]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football8.jpg[/img]
From the FA Cup Finalists in 1983

[img][546:538]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football2.jpg[/img]
Southern League Hereford Utd beat Newcastle Utd in the FA Cup
of 1972 and released this single to celebrate their 3rd round win!

[img][585:538]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football7.jpg[/img]
a rare single from 1970 which sounds uncannily like the theme to Shaun The Sheep

[img][558:547]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football3.jpg[/img]
Horrible singalong of "we love you, Leeds Leeds Leeds" the B side is even worse

[img][537:532]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football.jpg[/img]
From the days when Stoke City were first in the top division

[img][546:544]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football9.jpg[/img]
This tribute to Cyril Knowles of Spurs still sounds like one of
the better football records of the era reaching #14 in the charts.
It may be the same Spiro in the credits who wrote The Supporters record above.

[img][536:517]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football16.jpg[/img]
In 1982 the England squad sang "this time (we'll get it right)"
they didn't.

[img][509:509]http://www.gardenofearthlydelights.com/go33.gif[/img]
great 12" by Depth Charge with commentary sample of Pele
scoring a "goooooooooooooooooooooaaaaalllll"

[img][527:522]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/football10.jpg[/img]
the only foreign football disc I have is this one for French side St. Etienne

[img][521:519]http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/shanequentin3/img931.jpg[/img]
Jonathan Young and The Clive Allen Sound celebrate Man Utd star
Norman Whiteside, the rear of the disc has info for Norman's own Fan Club

The dumbest and therefore best football record of all time. Features John Gordon Sinclair as 'narrator'.

Note B. A. Robertson in the picture (he wrote the song) and Danny McGrain with his arm round someone who may not be an official member of the 1982 Scotland World Cup squad.

I might pick this in my Top 50 singles ever released, cos I'm perverse that way.

I dug out some of the albums over the weekend and after the joy of
beating Man Utd yesterday I thought it appropriate to start with these!

discovered this little gem over the weekend, Jeff Astle was of course
the late king of West Bromwich Albion and a sweet pianist!
Disc was produced by The Move's Carl Wayne - Brum connection sorted
