favorite restaurants in NYC?

I haven't been to many, actually, I am far more of an expert on Boston. I would probably say my favorite is Marlowe and Sons in Williamsburg. Everything there is perfect and their chocolate caramel tarte with rock salt is amazing.

I also really love Cafe Gitane on Mott St. and have heard wonderful things about the vegetarian place Candle 72

Wallse, is an Austrian place in the West Village that I wish I could go to more often. It's impeccable. Freemans, on the Lower East Side is also great.

oh and the Modern, in MoMA is likely the best restaurant I have ever been to.

i thought Moto in williamsburg was pretty good.

Do baseball players throw out candy?
If not, there was no reason to attend.

I went to their parade in 2000. I didn't see anything, but being in New York around so many other Yankee fans was a great experience because I'm normally around people who hate the fact that I'm a Yankee fan.

I wanted to go today, but couldn't swing it.

it's pretty chilly today but nice out.

The Red Sox parade in 2004 was awesome. Granted, I walked like 5 blocks to get there. But it was great.

a little doobie

that helps the stomach and the general "ugh" feeling. But the night before when you're out drinking, try to get a few ice water or bottled waters in your system between your drink of choice. Hangovers are typically atributed to dehydration. Also pop a vitamin before you go out (we're all malnourished anyway).

Yup, owing to Alcohol also being a diuretic, with a 4-to-1 water loss compared to volume of acohol (the actual acohol in solution). I used to have a rule for my weekly gig (where I drank free) that it was "1 for 1" with beer than water. Do that all night and you're gonna be ok. You're also gonna pee a lot.

actually not true. YOu can still feel shitty the next day.
hair of the dog is helpful too but you know, not the best in terms of overall health.

Crank your shower as hot as it will possibly go - close the door.

Lay on the floor of the tub while the water scalds you, the steam sweats the poison out, and drink a minimum of one, but up to three beers.

Actually I heard a podcast about this, and it's the usual suspects. Water (shitloads), potassium, vitamin B. Coffee is a win/lose in that the caffeine resitrcits your blood vessel to help with the headache (hence "headache powders" usually having it), but it's a diuretic which will dry you out further, which makes the brain shrinkage worse. Oh and by the way that's what the headache is about - your brain shrinks ever so slightly, which tugs at the lining.

actually, with dehydration, most of the painful sensation is from histamine (released when blood volume decreases/become more concentrated) which also causes cerebral vasodilation in the dura.

I don't drink (or anything else) like I did down in Belize, but I find that I crave tons of food. I recommend getting a BJ when hungover. It just makes you feel better.

Dude, you're talking to Obner. Might as well tell 90% of these people to get a hovercar.
