Should we poll or just start posting our picks?

Not sure I could narrow it completely to just 1 and 1, but I have said consistently that my favorite album of this decade is The Strokes, "Room on Fire."

I think my favorite song of the decade is "Hip Hop Thighs #17" by Ike Reilly

I could come up with a more complete list, and have been working on and off on it for a while....

I'm working on lists for both right now. Trying to gear up a 'Best of '09' and 'Best of '00's' for next month, albums and singles.

and I could be convinced that mine is Garbage Day, pretty easily. Score 2 for Ike.

Song for me is probably one of these:

"Dancing Partner" - Joe Pisapia
"Inches and Falling" - The Format
"Breathless" - Nick Cave
"Liar's Club" - The Webb Brothers

At least until I can forget which ones I forgot.

As an aside, Shooter Jennings was talking last night on his radio show about how he and Ike Reilly are good friends after meeting at a Tom Morello function. Shooter is covering Ike on his new album and they do a duet on Ike's Reilly new album.

i don't have a record of my yearly lists before '06, and wasn't obsessive enough until about '03, but i do still think i could do this. it can only happen once a decade.

The poll thing for this decade was a bust, but I'd be interested in seeing other people's own individual lists for the '00s. Not just #1, but top 20, 50, or 100 at most. Albums, not songs.

I'm in the process of putting mine together. I've been listening through my albums of this decade for the past couple of months (the ones I really needed to re-hear anyway) and trying to get a list of songs and albums together.

Not an easy task, I'm so sick of some really great songs from this decade so I don't really know what to do with those.

i'd say each Obner's Top 20 Albums / Top 20 Songs would be fairly interesting.

let's shoot for that, yeah?

definitely - maybe if we're doing 09 lists, we can follow with decade lists later in january?

I just pulled this album up in my iTunes:
Image

I had forgotten all about it, but it may very well rank in my top 20 albums of the decade, once all is said and done.

Not having it in physical form, but DL only lowered its profile for me. Damn.
