Every now and then I think rappers should get over the same old money, hoes, and gangster shit.

But then I remember that's what hip hop is ABOUT. Without it, everything just gets fucking lame and preachy.

It's much harder to get something new out of a tired cliche than it is to create something new altogether. I've heard everyone from Mick Jagger to Nick Cave pretty much say the same thing. That they enjoy working exclusively with cliches and breathing new life into them...
