There are thousands of songs so overplayed I hate them on general principle. But Freefalling and Running Down a Dream are the only Tom Petty songs to make the list.

American Girls and Refugee are just too damn good to hate, despite the ubiquitous radio play or the drunken idiot bar singalongs.

Funny, I had the album long before "Bill" saw Fast Times long before that movie, but that "Bill" scene sticks, still that's not my reference for liking the song since knowing it a while beforehand

On a tangent: What movie/song are hand in hand when you hear it, like Don't You Forget About me/Breakfast Club?
