I think the 2nd track is the first stand out track, but there isn't a bad song on there. It only 5 tracks long, so it's an EP, but how can anyone complain after MPP was only released 10 months ago. They have definitely stuck with the sound of Merriweather.

What Would I Want? Sky. A really nice embellishment on the live version they were playing out. I love it. This belongs in the Dick's Picks thread.

Oh I don't know it. Not at all. But I have a strong hunch, based on the fact that I haven't really liked anything else by them. I don't usually hate what I hear - it usually ranges from "meh/ what's all the hype about" to "mild annoyance." I feel like the last 2 or 3 times they released something we did some version of this, where I took the bait and listened to some youtube singles or something, and felt no different. Like I said I wish I felt differently, it's awesome when someone you really dig releases something new. I just don't get excited about these guys, and watching you guys parse out the links in real time was just sorta funny. SUCH FOCUS. I'm not clowning, I'm jealous.

alright, time to do what every animal collective release needs in order to do proper justice.

go for a walk, and put on the headphones.

This thread (as well as the general hype about MPP) is making me wonder - is Animal Collective going to be to the next decade what Radiohead was to the Aughts?

Sort of. I think it's altogether way looser. They were smart to leave these songs off MPP, if they're all from the same sessions, though these would fit well beside "Bluish", but change the album significantly.

Interesting, i was just thinking about how they relate closely to the style used on Bluish.

Cool, that's my favorite song on the album.

Gonna wait for the official release which I'm sure will be here before I realize it.

yeah, too early in the day for that yet, for me anyway. If I smoke now I'll spend the rest of the day avoiding responsibilities and phone calls. Tonight for sure
