I haven't had caffeine for 5 days. Why aren't I experiencing headaches? I'm not a coffee drinker, but I generally average 2 pepsi-colas a day.

This also represents a major cut in my sugar intake.

I feel kind of weird, and I get really fatigued late in the afternoon at work, but no really major withdrawal symptoms. What's up with that?

2 pepsi's isn't that much at all.
you'd likely feel the sugar more.

2 pepsi's is 200 cal's. 200 x 7 = 1400 cal's a week. Given about 3500 cal's per pound of fat, that's 20 pounds per year of Pepsi's you are drinking.

Now that is not really how it works, but at least shows what you are potentially saving yourself

I was a pretty dedicated coffee-drinker, and since I got the flu 2 weeks ago, I've not had a cup. When my strep throat was coming on this week I started drinking Douglass Fir tea, which I don't think has caffeine in it. I didn't suffer at all from withdraw.

Probably once I start feeling better again I'll go back to my coffee habits. I think as long as you limit yourself to 1 or 2 cups through the day you'll be fine. Its the pot after pot of coffee drinkers that probably need to slow down. When I was a barista, I would routinely drink cup after cup during my shifts. I started noticing weird patterns in attention spans, and slurring of words. Caffeine is weird like that.

I've cut back. I now drink only about 2 Cokes a week, and cut myself off from coffee at 11 a.m. However, this is an anti-kidney stone measure, not so much an anti-caffeine measure. I'm afraid to go cold turkey; I think I'll drag for a month after if that happens.

When I was in college me and my friend bought some caffeine pills and took about 5 each on night with coffee to see what would happen, worst night ever. We felt super focused, but had short attention spans. I also started shaking and couldn't sleep the rest of the night.
