Maybe they should go after Tedford.

Starting to hear some talk about Gary Patterson.

He's a smart, safe pick. If he can make TCU into a BCS level team, he can certainly make sure the Irish are regularly competitive. He'd almost guarantee ND a 10 win season next year, and seems to be able to successfully manage both sides of the ball.

Bob Davie, Ty Willingham and Big Fat Charlie all have the same .583 winning percentage....

I'm fucking done with this season. Epic disaster of Titanic proportions. If Richt didn't have 2 SEC Championships under his belt from this decade he would be gone. I'm sick of hearing the same broken record in these post-game interviews about how it wasn't for lack of effort, gotta get the penalties under control, gotta take care of the ball, etc, etc, etc. These things ALL fall of the coaches and no one is falling on the sword.

That was a watershed loss moment. The same kind of loss that did Ray Goff in (Vandy '94) and Jim Donnan in (Tech '00).

We should turn down whatever bowl bid we get on general principle. We don't deserve it.

Sans the nullified tie breaker calamity that will result if the Beavers lose, the Pac-10 agreements usually guarantees the 2nd best team the 2nd best bowl and so forth.
That sure as hell beats the random, this team draws better than that team or hasn't been to our game in a while so let's pick them crap that can happen in the Big 12 and other conferences.
I'm not sure which bowl game the Pac-10 is dropping or if they are just gaining a spot, but next year they replace the Big 10 team as an opponent for the so called 4th place Big 12 team that goes to the Alamo Bowl.

Talk around College Park and Maryland in general is that Brian Billick is interested in coaching the Terps. Who knows whether this is true or not, but its starting to heat up on blogs and websites pertaining to UM. Allegedly, Billick contacted the university and said that if there was any openings he'd like to be considered. Problem is, to buy out Fridge would be $4 mil, which of course with the economy would make it really slimy to buy him out and furlough state employees. Ah, to have a winning team, right?

The truly successful programs don't have to worry about a buyout that results in having to furlough state employees, they just reach into the pocket book and write the check. They got the boosters and can raise the cost of tickets once the team starts winning again.
Plus, no disrespect to Maryland, but how many years is left on Ralph's deal that would require you to pay him $4 Million?
All these mid-range BCS schools like Kansas State, Colorado, etc that have been paying out huge sums of money after firing a coach need to learn how to write better contracts that involve less back end/guaranteed money upon dismissal. I'm still pissed Callahan got $3 Million from the Huskers when his ass got fired, and the football program here is entirely self-sufficient.

Clay Davis can get this buyout done.

Nebraska finishes the regular season 9-3 with a less than stellar win over the hapless CU Buffs. I fully expect to get annihilated next Saturday in Jerry World, but it ended up being the sort of season most folks were expecting. Maybe the hopes and prayers of TCU will get us over the top against the Longhorns next weekend.

That was a hell of an Iron Bowl game. I thought Auburn was on there way to smiting Bama early on in the first quarter.

Cincinnati's Defense is really starting to worry me, especially with that Pitt game next week.

But how about Pike throwing for 6 TD's? eh?

Malachi, if your Huskers somehow pull a miracle out of their ass and beat the Longhorns next week, I will never, ever utter a single bad word about Nebraska ever again (both the team AND the state). At the very least, don't let A&FUCKINGM end up having given them a better game.

Have any of these conf champs played anyone? I feel like the big conferences are all pretty top heavy with one good team at the top and pure unadulterated gabage below.

Texas played Oklahoma State, who would probably be a sure bet for the BCS had they not stumbled against Houston after the win against Georgia, but other than that they haven't played anyone with a stellar record.

The Big 12 is shit this year. You're either a team like Nebraska and Oklahoma to some extent that have great defenses and no offense, or an explosive offense with absolutely no defense.

Starting to worry you? Cincy's given up over 100 points in their last 3 games. I'd say it's reached critical.

Also, 6 TD's is impressive but come one man, Illinois?

I'll give them credit though. I didn't think they'd beat WVU.

Still, despite Pitt losing, the East title is on the line and Pitt will be the best defense y'all have seen all year.

Should be a good one.

Dear God,

I know we haven't always seen eye to eye on stuff but if you can smite down anything wearing yellow and gold tonight and exalt all wearing red and black we call totally call it even for the year of my life 1994.

Come on dude. Do a brother a solid.

No doubt. We made some wrong decisions that day, because we made Cincy look way better than they are. Sorry TJ.

Also, what a win over Pitt. I can take that. The trophy comes back to MoTown.

Maybe if our offense wouldn't score so quickly (increase the time of possession) our smaller defense wouldn't get so tired.
The Bearcats had 2 touchdowns by the time they completed their first offensive play yesterday.

I simply can't deal with the media's giant, engorged, hard on for Tebow anymore.

I cannot wait for this fucker to leave college ball.

The worst part is, the worst of the media blitz is yet to come.

Fully agree.
3/4 of ESPN College Game Day was about him today.
I understand why it is so special that he was suppose to be dead at birth and they suggested his mother get an abortion rather than dealing with a dangerous birthing process, but he also cheated the system by living in an apartment with his mother so that he could play high school football with a better team that allowed him to pass the ball.
I also hate the fact that he's essentially a right wing, home schooled douche bag that will most likely parlay his college football success into starting some mega-church or will become a conservative congressman from Florida.
If he somehow pulls out another Heisman win, they might as well retire the award and start the Tebow award.

No, if Florida wins it all, as their final act, Tebow will golden shower Urban Meyer on national tv.

Meyer will later say it was because he wanted to be "baptized".
