Yeah, Derris, but 8-4 ACC is like 11-1 against Wyoming, Colorado State, Air Force, & Utah. But 8-4 ACC will bring in way more money.

TCU who has not lost a game this year was 2-0 against the ACC this year, including a road win at Clemson, just saying.

Most of them are the same, there are a few differences, but nothing very intriguing or suggesting upsets.

Tech fans have been beating their chests all year around here and have been dreaming of BCS Bowls and National Championships. To have that all taken away in the span of 8 days would be just too perfect.

Also, it would be yet another example of why the current BCS system is utter shite. You'd have an 8-4 team playing in the Orange Bowl. Ridiculous.

I thought that UGA is now ACC Champ, winning the tie breaker with South Carolina? :)

Based on what? The fact that the Orange Bowl's rating have continued to tank every year we've gone to the +1 deal?

This past Orange Bowl was the worst rated BCS bowl game ever.

Are you basing it on selling out the game? Ad dollars?

I'd argue having an undefeated TCU team in that game versus say, an undefeated Cincy team would bring a rabid TCU fanbase to Miami AND it would be a game that college football fans would rather see.

Are you sure? Everything I have seen says that it is currently at even money. With the game being played at Pittsburgh, that actually means the Bearcats are currently a 3pt favorite and have nullified the usual 3pts given to the home team.

Here are the odds:

Need a sarcasm icon.

But, aren't there still seven undefeated teams, with only Fla/Bama, Texas, &/or Cincy possibly leaving that rank? How is it fair to the other four (including a coupla from the (apparently) superior BCS conferences) to say Fla/Bama winner plays Texas? Tony Pike doesn't deserve his shot? The Horned Frogs don't have enough of a resume? Boise just wins, but at this point, it's old hat, & we're bored with it?

Basically, I'm saying I agree with you.

I was referring to them picking Cincinnati in the Gator bowl, not the spread.

6 unbeaten teams:
Florida/Alabama
Texas
TCU
Cincinnati
Boise State

It could be down to three by Sunday, but most likely five.

TCU has the resume this year, they just don't have the mystique of other teams that would have put them high enough in the polls at the start of the year.

I read where Notre Dame is meeting today to vote on whether or not to accept a bowl bid. I ask whether or not they look like bigger douche bags for turning down a trip to the GMAC bowl or if they actually accept it being 6-6 with an interim/lame duck coach and on a losing skid.

I think they look worse for declining a bid. To me it still smacks of displaying your alleged superiority when you're terribly mediocre.

That's all really irrelevant.

You accept the bowl bid because you get extra practices and the money you get from the bowl can go towards other sports in your athletic program.

I know they've turned them down in the past but it's a different landscape since they last pulled that move. If they do, then fuck 'em.

The only REAL national championship aka a game btwn the #1 and #2 ranked teams will take place in the Georgia Dome on Saturday.

oh, and ROOOOOOOLL TIDE!!

Also, I hope to see the UGA vs Clemson Chic-Fil-A Bowl. Old rivalry that doesn't get as much attention due to lack of meetings this decade.

I'd take Texas in a best of seven against Bama in neutral site games, but I'm not so sure the Horns could take the Gators.

Texas will be deserving of the title game if they get there, plus they have been pretty damn good in BCS bowl games this decade unlike the Sooners.

Plus, if Mark Ingram is doubtful or not at 100%, you really aren't getting a true game between Florida and Bama.

Also FWIW, according to the College Football Data Warehouse, Texas is a combined 9-0-2 against Bama and the Gators.

I think Texas can beat Bama, but not Florida. Honestly,Texas isn't that great. They play a lousy non conference schedule, and the Big 12 basically sucks this year.
That said,I'd damn near buy a Colt McCoy jersey if he could beat the Tebows.

Surprising number of people in Mobile went to Notre Dame -- would be agreat recruiting opportunity for them as well, across the Gulf Coast.

I just don't think Bama has it in them to beat Florida. I have watched most of there games, and they play so damn tight, and per usual, suffer from week play under center.

Now, the operating theory amongst hard core Bammers and Finebaum listeners is that they have been "holding out" on their big play ability so as to surprise Florida....

Charlie Weis is officially gone. Bob can now celebrate the end of Captain Lapbelt's reign and can dream that one day soon Irish glory will return.

The Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association
or
yet another reason why I wish somebody would stop Tim Tebow before it gets too late.

"Because the Holy Scriptures were divinely superintended and because of the character of God, the Bible is completely inerrant. This is to say the written Word of God is totally without error of any kind. The Bible is wholly true in all that it affirms. We do not believe the Scriptures have errors or mistakes at all. In any place where the Bible speaks to an issue, whether in depth or on the surface, the Bible is wholly accurate. These truths about the Scriptures are based upon the character of God and the Biblical testimony (II Timothy 3:15-16; Proverbs 30:5-6; II Peter 1:20-21). We believe the Bible is to be understood in the literal, grammatical, historical sense that avoids the errors of allegorical, private interpretations that depart from the original intent of the Author."

Yeah - they gonna be vibing apoplectic next Saturday. Of course, I won't be able to gloat much because A) they would mop the floor with UGA, and B) Femgar might rock me in my "new" nose.
