my cd player just died!!!!

one disc finished and the next one wouldn't play. it says there's no disc in the machine. it just won't recognize discs any more.

it's just a panasonic piece of crap that my ex bought me for my birthday when she was spending all her real money on her boyfriend so it's not like a great loss BUT she got the good sound system when i left and this is all i've had.

i can't afford a great system right now so does anybody have any recs on something i can pick up tomorrow for a few hundred bucks?

just get some good speakers for your computer.

Or forget the bike for now, and get a hot stereo.

okay, wait a minute.
i may or may not get the bike--at least until may.
i can't afford a kickass stereo system because i just spent $700 on eyewear.
i need something i can pick up tomorrow for around $200.
i know it may be crappy but it's all i can do now.
i'm hyperventilating.
maybe i'll make some stuffed pork chops for dinner or at least go to the liquor store.

no ipod but i can still play cds on my computer. i have decent speakers.

someone shoot me if I am wrong, cuz I always thought the laser read is pretty standard amongst manufacturers as compared to tape decks or turntables(needles), which are more sensitive to the media.

i didn't walk away from the ex with the seperate components so i have an inexpensive 4 year old mini system. i need to buy another small system for now while i save for components.

the glasses are expensive because i need progressives--that's bifocals to you young 'uns. but no line. plus i ordered custom clip-ons.

I feel for you ayah. Perhaps you can still buy a decent disc player and connect it to your mini as an auxiliary component until you save up for the upgrade. That way you can still listen to 5 disc rotary on the cheap, keep the new disc player while only needing the receiver/amp and speakers to follow when you get the hooch to afford it..

Not sure what your mini system has in the back . I'm trying here. I hope all is not lost.

If you have a discman you may be able to jack it into the mini system. Free - well maybe the cost of the cable - but enough while you do some savin'
