In no way am I a fan of the team, but they are damn good, and it would be great to see a team like the "Aints" who have never won a Super Bowl take it this year, especially if it prevents Chili and Favre from winning it.

I suspect that what we're seeing is an untouchable player voicing widespread lockerroom resentment of Big Ben. I think it's got nothing to do with his current injury and everything to do with fatigue over date-rape, motorcycle accidents, big contracts, and probably all-round douche-nozzlery.

Don't get me started on Hines Ward. The guy is dirty player, and this comment shows he's got zero-respect for his QB. Like Ben or not, the guy is having a career year and possibly leading a hurt team in the playoffs--though now with the loss to the Ravens, not as likely.

You say dirty, I say throwback and a Hall of Famer.

I agree with Shamwow. I think a lot of Steeler players are sick of Ben's antics and distractions but it gets a pass because they have been really good the last several years. If they fall apart down the stretch I suspect we'll see more of this.

I also think Hines can say whatever the fuck he wants. Dude has played hurt countless times and played on a sprained fucking knee for most of the playoffs (he had surgery right after the Super Bowl)

Also, let's not forget that Big Ben publicly stated that he wanted to draft "a taller receiver" this past season despite Hines being the best receiver ever to play for Pittsburgh. I suspect those two aren't going to each others Christmas parties.

If it's not the Falcons I can easily root for the Saints. New Orleans would go insane if they won a Super Bowl and it would be great for the city.

But, I've seen this story play out before. Remember the "Greatest Show On Turf"? I remember them beating the brakes off everybody all year and then getting shut down by the Pats.

Nothing is guaranteed.

& more recently, '07 Patriots shut-down by the Giants d. Then a miracle by Tyreeeli, & foregone conclusion td reception to win by Plax.

But Saints over Vikings in the Super Bowl, for the NFC? Fuck, & yes. At that point, I really wouldn't care what the match-up would be, nor who would win.

I don't feel bad at all, Bob: Keith was stealing money the last few years he was with the Falcs--I'm glad he's turned it around in Big D.

i'll take your word for it, since you were much more closely watching him the last few years, but it's so hard to fathom anybody would have thought he was done based on how he's played so far this year

he doesn't seem like the type who would have just been mailing it in for the past couple of seasons, then get completely rejuvenated by a move

He was born an hour from Atlanta, played college ball at Georgia Tech, and had played his whole career in Atlanta.

I think it's really easy to see how he could be rejuvenated after living within an hour radius his entire life.

Exactly. I am well aware of the fact that they are 0-4 and have not won a Super Bowl, but they deserve that curse with Favre now involved with them. I can't believe they played in that god awful dome for so many years, at least they'll be outside next year.

I dunno. I just can't agree. It's not just me who calls him dirty, NFL players themselves voted him the dirtiest player in the league. I just feel like Ward's comments are completely crazy. First, because not only are you wanting to put someone's life at jeopardy, but also the entire team's year at stake. Ben goes down again, and the Steelers are done for the year. At least now, even with the loss, you still have the chance at the playoffs. You get redemption in a few weeks when Baltimore comes to Heinz Field. Sure a loss stings, and emotions are high. Maybe Ward was just flying high still off of those emotions post-game. Who knows. I just know that if I'm the coach, I'm looking at the big picture, and that's getting my team to the SB again.

They're no Bills. They haven't even been to the super bowl since 1979 or something. And the dome still stands next year. The Twins are moving out, but the Vikings are still trying to get public money for a new stadium.

I won't even get into my issues with Twin City sports teams consistently seeking public funding for new venues (namely Carl Pohlad and the Twins), they should have chipped in some extra money to make that new stadium on campus a Pro facility as well.

Also the Vikings should have made the Super Bowl in 1998, it isn't my fault Gary Anderson decided to miss his only kick all year against the Falcons.

Yeah because nothing else happened in that game except GA missing that kick

Not saying it was the deciding factor, since it was a lot like the Cubs/Marlin game featuring Steve Bartman, but if Gary Anderson had made the kick the Vikings would have had a 30-20 lead with 2:00 left in the game.
A miss like that tends to cause at least a minor momentum shift.

Holy Shit
109 MPH in a 55 zone. I think that could get you a beating as a black man in certain places, but the cop in the twin cities probably laughed his ass off.

In the right car, that's really no big deal. I cross the 100 MPH ticker at least three times a week during my commute.

Brutal day for the Falcons.

The return of Vick and the fan reaction was a fucking embarassment.

This team is going nowhere fast.

Where's estone?

'Ol Chad Henne looking like Dan Marino today circa '84.

makes last weeks loss @ buffalo even more frustrating.

henne looks good. still misses some passes he HAS to make, but if we get him a true #1 WR he could turn good to great.

always good to beat the patsies, even if it might've potentially knocked me out of my fantasy football playoffs.
