England wasn't good enough to make it to the Euros... they are a strong team but definitely not unbeatable.

Injuries are the only thing holding the Yanks back at this point. If we can beat Spain in the Confederation Cup and lead Brazil after one half of play, we can beat England. They got some great players, but they aren't Italy of 2006, who the US played incredibly well against while being shorthanded.
The past upset of Portugal and play against Germany in 2002, give me some confidence. If we get healthy, I think we could easily gain a draw against Three Lions.

We should be favored to advance...which is about the first time I can recall ever making that statement about a US team. But, it will not be easy and England is rightly the overwhelming favorite to win this group.

Slovenia is tougher than you might think. They eliminated Russia in the qualifying round.

No one is bad once you get to the cup, not saying it should be easy. But, saying for a change we can legit be favored by probably a majority of pundits to advance.

After our performance in the last WC and the one in France, the American team won't be underestimating any teams.
