Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Yankees have acquired OF Curtis Granderson as part of a three-team blockbuster deal with the Tigers and Diamondbacks.

The Yanks did really well here, snagging the 28-year-old Granderson for Ian Kennedy, Austin Jackson, Phil Coke. A small price to pay for a player of Granderson's talent and personality. As part of the three-way deal, Detroit will receive right-handers Max Scherzer and Daniel Schlereth from Arizona and Coke and Jackson from the Yanks. The D'Backs, meanwhile, receives a questionable return in Edwin Jackson from the Tigers and Kennedy from the Yanks. Granderson can be used in either left or center field, giving Brian Cashman some flexibility in negotiations with free agent outfielder Johnny Damon. It's safe to say the Tigers now have the payroll flexibility they wanted.

depends on what ajax turns into, could be a phenomenal steal for detroit, i think scherzer is likely to pitch as well as jackson, schlereth can be a great reliever, and phil coke is a nice piece as well, plus they shed a 26 million contract

and i also like edwin moving back to the NLW and maybe now we can see what kennedy can do as a starter - in AZ mind they gave up two elbow surgeries in-the-waiting and got a couple of guys who should be a little more durable

Kennedy has barely pitched since his aneurysm surgery.
Coke seemed like lights ut early on, but had a super shaky post-season
and Austin jackson, the Yankee brass feel won't be ready for the majors until at least September...

i think they did good!

Granderson is a good ballplayer for certain, can run, and can field with the best of them. But he can't hit lefties (career .210) and adds another 140-160 k's a year to a lineup that already strike's out too much. And for some reason, my gut tells me that Granderson will end up the kind of player who's skills will just drop off earlier than expected one year, while Austin Jackson will end up a better averaged Mike Cameron (or in other words, a guy who can hit .275-.300 with 15-20 homers a year). Really I just feel for that price they could've gotten more.
