I have less problems with these lists than a lot of others. Predictable mix of good/bad.

I guess even ol Jann is embarrassed by the 5 STAR review of Goddess in the Doorway, eh?

I think they gave out three or four 5 star reviews this decade, but they left this one off the list.

I think it is a great list. I wouldn't have a lot of it on my list, but it is one of the most realistic list that includes both critical and commercially successful albums and songs.
I don't think RS intentionally included any song or album in the top ten just to get the wow factor or discussion.

3 coldplay albums on the list, almost their whole discography.

I just don't dig that band.

Old U2 is fantastic but their output this decade was disappointing.

I actually like this list... given its mainstream focus it seems pretty supportable.

Two Dylans... I wouldn't put him quite that high, but it's not a glaring goof up. And who'dda thunk forty years ago he's put two "bests" in the top 15 in this millenium.

And the U2 (All That...), I was disappointed when I came out... but I still reach for it, play it... and some of it rocks quite nicely.

I was just looking at the voters for these lists...you have a lot of guys from indie type bands like Britt Daniel, Isaac Brock, Fabrizio Moretti, Colin Meloy, Jim James to random record label and media folk, to more mainstream type artists like Lenny Kravitz, Lars Ulrich, Mike Shinoda, etc.

For what this is it's better than I would have expected. No use at expecting a mainstream publication to list to many non mainstream stuff. I would say that at least 20% of these would be on my list of top 100 for the decade.
