Well, I bought it for my 10-year-old, actually, because he's outgrowing his Squier Mini.


Only his is green. Pretty cool.
When we brought it home last night, he practiced with a renewed vigor.


I just hope that he lets me borrow it sometime.

If I were a 10 year old, I think I would be ecstatic to get that. Very nice.

How's his playing coming along (pre-renewed vigor)?

I just picked up my banjo again after well over a year of inactivity. I'm sick of people seeing it on my wall and asking if I can play it. Hoping to get together with a local jam session and start putting my money where my clawhammer is.

He takes after his dad: he's coming along slowly, but when he decides that he really wants to play, he does okay.
His teacher is teaching him cool songs by bands that he likes (White Stripes, The Cars, Green Day), so that helps. Hopefully he'll stick with it. And if he doesn't, then I got me a cool guitar! (But I don't think that he'll let that happen.)

Cool, man. These make a great noise. You have to set them up carefully from what I've seen, because the "factory" is not going to do anything like that for you, but then they're just shitloads of fun. Boing boing boing. My wife's cousing in Madison has a purple one with a bigsby knockoff.
