The new lead singer for Alice In Chains is my best friend's new neighbor...his baby cries fucking constantly.

didja know he wrote that hit for Dionne Farris...the one that goes "I know what you're doin, yeah"

^heh, yeah, that surprised me as well. Along with Chevelle.

Both bands I flirt with liking from time to time, but never enough that I actually buy (or re-buy) any of their albums.

...except for P86's Drawing The Black Lines. Too important in my high school years. Good to own, simply for nostalgia's sake*.

*plus, it is actually fairly decent.

Chevelle have been making the same record for 5 years now....Not that it is a bad thing. They have a good formula. They're heavy. I love the vocalists voice. They'll probably continually make my year end lists as long as they don't fuck with the formula too much...

Project 86, I have always enjoyed. My friend is a real fan-boy, but this record I found myself going back too more and more...

Actually, as I think of it, I think I still have Point #1, Chevelle's first album, somewhere. I loved the way that album opened up. I'm going to have to dig that out, now that this thread reminded me of it.

There third record, 'This Kind of Thinking Could Do Us In" is my favorite of theirs...

lead single 'The Clincher' is one of my top 10 favorite songs ever!

Wow, I'm shocked it took this long to get a Bulletboys comment...

I don't expect my explanation to turn any heads at this point, but the band did kind of re-invent themselves over the last 5 years, and put out a pretty solid modern rock sounding record. long gone are the days of being a Van Halen rip-off...

TK - you ever get a chance to check out the latest Damone, or did you just not care for it?

Haha...When I saw that you were the latest poster to the thread, I knew a Damone comment was coming...

I liked Roll The Dice, but after the first few listens, i never really found myself wanting to go back to it....I'll give it another listen...

Hee hee. It's definitely the least of their 3 albums, but there's some good 'uns on there. In a just world, "Conquer Me" woulda been MASSIVE.

The band, sadly, is on "hiatus".
