Yeah, this is a great feeling - now you can run it back up....er, manage your money better this time around!

I keep getting more access to credit without actually using it -- even better.

Managing has never been a problem. It's just nice to know that everything I've purchased with a credit card (including a trip to Mexico in February and some new furniture) has been paid off already. But yeah, I'm looking forward to putting more money away this year.

I have this huge Constanza wallet. I've got everything in it. Standard stuff like credit, debit, atm and reward cards, checkbook, et cetera, et cetera, but I've also go a bunch of concert and movie tickets, pictures, this huge stack of post-its, tea bags for some reason and various and random other things.

I was given a new, streamlined wallet for Christmas and I can't put my checkbook in it, but I fit everything else I really need and it's, like, 16 pounds lighter. It may have changed my life, but I still feel like I'm flying without a net.

I'm eying, for a gift for myself, a necklace from Flying Rabbit's wife's Etsy site and I would like to go on some sort of trip in 2010.

Wow, d. That's incredible, well done!

I have come to accept that I will never be debt free because of my education and home. It's just easier that way.

Wow. So were you and the other Allman Brothers playing at this event or did you and Dickey Betts just go to chase girls?

I was looking for the proper response here.

Also, not to sully a Christmas thread, but you are insinuating that your kid is basically one step above being in a group home/unable to feed himself, right? :?

Finally got back from the outer regions of North Georgia and am happy to report that Obama is still the cause of everything that is wrong with America in those parts.

It's also a place where ol Derris had himself a fine, fine Christmas this year.

Crown jewel, and most manly gift received:

Honda Super Quiet 2000w/120V generator - fucker will run a fridge, tv, blow dryer, and 2 400 watt PA speakers all at once.

Most unexpected gift:

Nintendo Wii from FemDerris' dad (along with the Wii Fit) - didn't ask for it but am stoked to have it now and will most likely be putting up a thread for the best games (already know Mario Kart is #1)

Best of the Rest:

Great iron work wall art for bedroom (about 3 x 5 feet piece)
Pablo Neruda - The Captain's Verses (book)
Ray Ban sunglasses
The Vaselines - Enter the Vaselines (cd)
John Coletrane - Ascension (cd)
Tony Stewart Pit Shirt (Office Depot - mock me at your own peril)
Hold Steady/Art Brut gig poster - November 18th - Variety Playhouse gig poster for concert Bloor, Hassler, and I attended
Jos. A. Bank gift card - enough for new suit
Various gift certs, best being 6 Regal Cinemas coupons for Admission for 2 and $10 towards concessions for Oscar season.

Feeling pretty fucking blessed right about now.

Haha, yeah she has a site Bloor. She's been rocking on Etsy. Over 200 sales! Pretty proud of her. She gets mentions in blogs and whatnot too, which to me is amazing, because Etsy is such a huge place.

Stacey--I was gonna throw a mix-cd in the package, but she is so on point with shipping that she already had it ready to be mailed this morning. Ah well.

Wow, that is awesome. Though I can't really complain about crazy fast shipping, thanks for the thought on the mix!

We rented a cabin in the woods of NC for our present, for the most part. Family drove up / over too, and the baby was great, so we had a really good 4 or 5 days. As far as stuff-n-shit I think I got:

- a fleece from North Face that I really dig
- gift card for motorcycle tires thank fucking jebus
- gift card to REI

and some other small stuff. Also... JESUS CHRIST BUSTY what a fucking haul. Man, you guys always do it up bigtime.

I was surprised by how serviceable those things were when I had to live off of one at the convenient store at UW in Seattle of all places for a summer.

There wasn't anything that was jaw dropping, but some were better than others. I remember most of the Tully's ones being good.

There are variety packs at Bed Bath and Beyond, like 60 cups for 30 bucks.

If you find one you like, there are monster deals on k-cups at Costco, they're pushing it hard, but no variety packs, so you have to commit. Unless you buy a few of them so you can rotate.

Dickey was pimping Dale out that week for rent money, I think. And the remark about the boy wasn't meant as a condemnation of his character- he's a lot more likable than I am.

And finally, for the record, I was marginally drunk when I posted that- that particular picture does not have the Washington Monument in the background.

Busty gets the nod for the best haul, methinks.

Yeah, as you know from our Starbucks convos on here I'm particular about my brews. I had the chance to try the machines a bunch of times while I would on commercial shoots in offices. I was impressed. My wife surprised me with a Platinum one. 5 drink sizes, customizable temp, time on/off, etc. This morning I had "Donut Shop" which wasn't bad. I saw Amazon has that--50/$21. Not too bad. Had a mudslide previously, which was decadent. Gonna order some teas, and some cheap samplers tonight. I might even order the ground coffee adapter.

Thanks for the recs on Tully's and the head's up on where else to find deals.
