Yeah, I started a thread one minute before your response, because of how huge this news is to college sports fans.

Jesus, Georgia Fans, I had forgotten that the Independence Bowl was relegated to a 4:00pm EST start time on ESPN2, thus will be viewed only by the hardcore faithful and weirdos like myself.

Oh and I dont think "relegated" and "Independence Bowl" should be in the same sentence--its a crap bowl that should probably just be broadcast on AM radio.

Oh yeah - sitting by myself, watching it on a 24" non-HDTV at my inlaws. LifeFail.com Bowl!

Same here, except that I have no in laws and my screen is slightly larger, but still without HD.

In your situation, I would decamp to a bar.

Here, that would produce TEARS.

Mike Leach suspended for the Alamo Bowl.
That's pretty interesting and quite funny. If he gets canned, that would be two former Stoops assistant coaches fired/forced resignation from Big 12 schools for player abuse charges.

What the deuce???
Texas Tech suspends Leach due to a player's complaint.
Isn't this the same school that employed one Robert M. Knight?

Bob Knight was beloved and the Red Raiders named his son as his successor, Mike Leach has had a contentious relationship with Texas Tech including that dispute over contract clauses last year that nearly involved a lawsuit.

Not disagreeing one bit,but Knight didn't do shit at Tech, and neither has his son.
Leach has had a pretty good run there. That said,he never should have signed that contract.

They made the Sweet 16 in 2004-2005, and have never made a BCS game or Big 12 title game under Leach. He's a great coach, but with all that offense, you would have expected them to do something better than get blown out by OU last year and then lose to Mississippi in the Cotton Bowl.

Off topic, these Advocare commercials are killing me, especially the one featuring former Nebraska Kicker Josh Brown.

More on Mike Leach:

I got this from a Husker Sports message board, I guess it is a rumor floating around on various Texas Football boards.

Adam James , son of Craig James, had a concussion this year. Toward the end of the year he wasn't practicing and Leach was not happy. Leach made him walk around the practice fields every day all day during practice. Apparently Leach was pissed that James showed up at practice with sunglasses on and when asked why he was wearing sunglasses to workout. James said he was sensitive to light and the doctors instructed him to wear them due to symptoms of the concussion.

Leach then instructed Adam James to take out all of the equipment in the equipment bins and sit throughout practice inside of them. He had to do this 2 or 3 times. (Those of you that are wondering, the equipment bins are big huge bins on wheels that hold footballs, towells, pads, etc...) Well The Pony Express caught word of this and wasn't happy. The NCAA was called and Mr. Brinker said that there was going to be an investigation coming soon. It wouldn't surprise me if Adam enrolled at SMU this next coming season. What a piece of sh*t. With everything Mangino went through at Kansas, Leach may not be safe. Who knows, don't shoot the messenger.

When they lost to OU,Tech was the #2 team in the country. Not sure what Knight's best team was.
Neither of their teams were going to crack the top 2 of the Big 12 South. And they shouldn't,it's Texas Tech.
I guess I like Leach, and think Knight should have retired years ago.

Oh,and Josh Brown grew up a tiny bit up the road from me(20 miles or so). He was a helluva athlete. He played 8 man football, and set numerous records.
Also high-jumped 6-8 his senior year of HS(thanks,Wikipedia)

Cool, I took a 400/800 level History class with him while I was in Grad School, that coincided with the 2001 Football season. I had to sit at a table with him and 3rd string QB/holder Joe Chrisman, and got to hear all about road trips and saw the Husker Football playbook under Frank Solich.

Georgia is looking good. Nice special teams in the first half.

In reality, we look OK/just a step above complete shit, but Special Teams saved our asses.

That last drive was the only good of the night.

Of course after this, they really put the rout on.

Best thing I can say is: 13 consecutive 8+ win seasons is the longest in the nation right now. Bitches.

It's kind of amazing that the streak is that low currently. Nebraska had 32 consecutive 9 win seasons from 1969 to 2001 and Bowden had that huge run of 10+ win seasons. I guess parity, freak injuries and one bad recruiting class effect teams a lot more now than they once did.

That drive where they started around midfield and scored by only handing the ball off to two white guys is all the proof you need that their are too many Bowl Games and too many shitty teams playing in them. Congrats A&M, you posted a losing record on the season but you got to go to Shrevport for a couple of days. Way to fucking fail.
