Anyone have a MyTouch/HTC Magic or a G1/HTC Dream Android Phone?

why is multitouch an issue?

I'm sure multitouch will be available in no time at all if you're willing to root your phone, but not everyone wants to travel down the dorky road like me. With that said, my G1 is a much better device with the CyanogenMod ROM running on it. The Nexus will probably have something similar (but better).

i'd like to smash my g1 with a brick at this point. hunk doesn't even begin to describe it. i'm desperate for an upgrade.

dalen, multitouch is an issue for me b/c you're just not utilizing the touch screen as well without it....compare typing on android to that of the iphone. the iphone kills android so far. i think multitouch is why.

Are you referring to the laggy-ness in the UI on the test models? Yeah, don't get me wrong, if they can't resolve that issue then I'll probably go either go with the Nexus or wait for the HTC Bravo - that's the one nice thing about not buying into a Smartphone yet, I can always hold out for something better and not settle for something that isn't up to what it should be.

Billshrink has put together one of their handy charts comparing the total cost of the Google Nexus One, including the device cost plus carrier fees. The verdict? On the high end the Nexus One costs $2,580 over 24 months. The iPhone weighs in at an impressive $3780, almost 50% more.

The reason are AT&T’s iPhone plans v. the T-Mobile plan. Unlimited voice, data and text messages runs $100 on T-Mobile, and $150 for AT&T.

if im reading that chart right can you translate that cost difference as the norm? looks like its being based off the unlimited minutes of talk time and a dude like me barely gets into thte 300 minute range after a month because i text so much (i have a 500 minute plan). but i can understand it if people dont have a land line

The prices aren't quite right because Pre's can be obtained for $49 and I've seen Droids for $179. So the Sprint really is the best deal, but then you have to be on Sprint's network which was terrible in Chicago and Cincy, and you only have a few apps to choose from. (I like how they list the exact number...258, lolz)

too bad the plan that google offers is a shaft on what tmobile offers for any other smart phone. that pisses me off big time.

Any of you guys use a program to stream radio stations?

I'm trying out this app called "StreamFurious" and it already has defaults in it for KEXP and 97X. It seems to be taking a long time to que up, even at 32kbps....It just keeps downloading....

Edit: ok at about 2.5 mb download is when it started playing. I guess that is the needed buffer.

Bubble - A Level
Flashlight - A...
Barcode Scanner - Good for lots of things, such as key ring rewards, searching for product info, locating new apps, etc.
ScrobbleDroid - To scrobble Last.FM
Swift - Twitter client
Unit Convertor - To change all my wifes metric recipes into real measurements.

Where! - Gives you locations for all the stuff around where ever you are.

Widgets:
Quick Settings (Shortcuts to turning off wifi, bluetooth, airplane mode, gps, etc.)
Spare Parts (Opens up additional settings for customization)

Games:
Nesoid Lite
Chess
Wordup!
