I liked seeing Texas Tech win without Mike Leach. Dude seems like a class-A piece of shit, and I have no sympathy for the James kid.

Meanwhile, that interim dude seemed very cool. They should seriously consider making that mofo head coach on a permanent basis.

Ruffin McNeil? He seems like a "players coach". He also has a massive FUDA similar to Charlie Weis'.

Boise State wins 17-10. I don't think they really made the statement they needed to prove that they should do anything but sniff Alabama's jock. TCU's stellar Defense never looked to be as fast, focused or ferocious as Nebraska's or Alabama's in recent games. And neither team appeared to have the team speed to stay within two touchdowns of Florida at this point of the season.

The NCAA stuck it to Bobby Bowden right after a successful ending to his career.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4797662

The NCAA Division I Infractions Appeals Committee has upheld the decision to penalize Florida State for academic cheating, meaning former football coach Bobby Bowden's record has been stripped of 14 victories.

The NCAA made the announcement Tuesday but made no mention of Bowden's record.

Bowden coached the Seminoles for the last time in the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, a 33-21 victory over West Virginia on New Year's Day.

The 80-year-old Bowden would finish with 375 victories in a coaching career that spanned 57 seasons, the last 34 in Tallahassee.

A call to Bowden from ESPN.com was not immediately returned.

Florida State still must certify which games ineligible players competed to determine the number of wins and individual records that will be nullified.

Neither of these teams deserves to play in Shreveport, much less The Orange Bowl. BCS should drop the Orange Bowl on general principle for this sham. Way. To. Fail.

(Not that it's a bad game, but how is the winner of this game really gonna say they are Top 5 in the nation?)

Agreed. I'll be curious to see the ratings this year.

FYI, UGA just beat the #17 NATS in hoops.

A Hawkeye win will make it a double shot of FUCK YOU for the Yellow Maggots.

I was hoping G Tech won, for essentially the same reason as you. I don't specifically hate the Hawkeyes, but their fans are pretty much unbearable when they have a good season. They'll act as if this game is the equivalent of a National title and completely disregard the fact that the Huskers own the Hawkeyes in the all-time series.
Nothing would have been sweeter than to see them lose to an overrated Georgia Tech team and finish below the Huskers in the polls.
I'm thinking Nebraska ends up at #15, give or take a spot or two.

I'd definitely start an anti-bama group if I had to see this on a regular basis.

RVING, Texas -- The University of Georgia is interested in Cowboys defensive line coach Todd Grantham to become its next defensive coordinator, according to a league source.

Grantham, who was unavailable for comment, has been with the Cowboys the past two seasons.

The last time Grantham coached in college was 1998, when he was defensive line coach at Michigan State. He also served a stint at Virginia Tech (1990-1995).

In the pros, Grantham was a defensive coordinator with Cleveland from 2005 to 2007 before he joined the Cowboys.

College programs don't need permission to speak to NFL coaches about potential employment.

I'm guessing this would make Loogs ecstatic, but I could be wrong.

Didn't the Browns have one of the worst D's in the league from '05 - '07? Way to fail UGA.

Cowboys have been ranked 8 or 9 in overall D the last couple of seasons.

According to Pro Football Reference.com

The Browns ranked #11 in total defense in 2005, #22 in 2006 and #21 in 2007, so they were never that close to being the worsts, but never really stellar either.

All that is complete speculation. There is NOTHING coming out of UGA's camp right now. Trust me, I'm all over the state papers and blogs.

There is a story that says Bud Foster may have passed Grantham's name along because they're apparently friends but, like I said, this is all speculation. I honestly think UGA will contact Kirby Smart this weekend and we'll know if he wants to come home or not by next week. Despite earlier reports, nothing has been offered to Smart and as far as the news goes, UGA hasn't even asked to contact him yet.

Also, there's a game to be played tonight BTW. You can probably find it on your local stations.

BAMA- 35
UT- 17

UT has simply not impressed me down the stretch. I think the layoff may have hurt Bama a little but in a match up of Brown vs Saban, I'll take Saban 8 days a week.

Bama pulls away in the 4th.

Despite the fact that I helped spread the Smart rumor, and have consistently bagged on GARtinez and Blobo, I feel about the Asst. Coach-Go-Round about like Yail feels about people who follow recruiting.

I care who we get, but I don't need to know about all the machinations. Bring in Terry Hoage and be done with it!

I'm going Bama 24 Texas 17. The Tide needed to start fast against the Gators in the SEC title game after being sluggish against Auburn, and I think that's what they do tonight. Texas seems to be the type of squad that struggles early but does what it needs to do late to win games. I believe the Horns will trail by at least two scores going into the 4th quarter and fail to score late to tie it up.

I have a weird feeling that Texas is actually going to pull this off tonight.

Texas - 24
Alabama - 20

24-17 is my prediction as well. I think it might actually be A Game.
