Why is that? Boring to listen to or boring to make?

Maybe it doesn't need to be stuff that was new to you, but just stuff that you listened to a lot. Like if there was something you rediscovered, some genre you dug deeper into but still went back to your old favorites from, something like that.

That I can do. I just didn't have much time to discover much new this year beyond the stuff that everyone heard (Japandroids, Dirty Projectors, Merriweather, etc.)

What would be great though would be if we could match up to someone else. Then do like a request style mix. Like say I pulled Shmoo, and he would say "I need a mix for a Sunday morning when I'm sitting around" or "I need a mix for a 30 gym session". It would be interesting to make a particular mix for someone on a specific goal.

I'm going to pair people up later today, so if anyone else is interested they should say so soon. Also I think it would be best to leave it up to individuals to decide if they want to have a theme or not.

That's no fun. There should be a theme. Plus, it will be cool when we eventually post up the mixes to see the themes. Why be boring?

My argument is that I can make a mix anytime I want. If someone challenges me with a specific theme, then that makes it interesting.

How interesting will it be when you get K as your partner and he requests a mix of drones?

How likely would it be that k would actually do that?

Who here is gonna be all "Make me a mix of the stuff I already listen to and know more about than you do?"

Actually, that might be an interesting idea. Like if Dale asked me to make a black metal mix or something.

Very, actually. Thats something we share an interest in. And I think you both probably know how to use the private msging so that you can kinda hash out what is possible. Plus, I doubt K would be that much of a stickler to only accept a mix that is in an genre he likes.

Like I mentioned before, it can be broad like "music for my commute". I guess I don't understand yr apprehension towards it. Anytime someone can pop up a mix and say "here you go" what's the sense in making a mix for someone if it isn't going to be personal anyway? I would imagine if you pulled K, for instance, you would want to kinda gear a mix towards him.

Ah dude, give me some credit, I wouldn't request that, and it's not like that's all I listen to. However, if I get paired up with you now, you will receive a mix of the career of Makato Kawabata 1979-2009, thirty years of japanoise just for you my friend  Prepare to enjoy.

Fine. I'll ask whomever I get, what sort of mix he/she wants.

Haha...I would still listen to it. I don't have a problem with that.

How about we do 'set the scene' scenarios? For example we can PM our partners a scenario such as "A cafe in Paris" or "A beach in Costa Rica" etc.

Who's being a baby? I'm just trying to make things less complicated. It's not a big deal. In any case, fuck you.

I kind of want to redeem myself for being such a lousy participant the last time I did this. What's the deadline for this one?

EDIT: Oh, I see there's another thread now.
