Yep, I underestimated this new guy. Bama should have went for the jugular early in the 3rd quarter and decided to play it a bit more conservative.

You know, if Texas' receivers hadn't dropped so many passes and Brown hadn't called that dumb ass shuttle pass... Texas could be ahead. 'Bama doesn't look that good really. Maybe Boise State should be #1.... ha ha aha ahahhaha... Fucking Saban...

What about the first two times Texas had the ball in the red zone and got 6 points?

Bama has shut down the run. If anything it's on Saban for not getting on the players for taking their foot off their necks.

While I agree with you, the Longhorns have shown pretty good balance and were running the ball much better in the first half than they did throw the ball with the newbie QB.

They have 177 passing yards now and 95 rushing yards.

Ha Ha,the ABC announcers cursed them by mentioning the lack of sacks given up during the game.

Nice prediction
I'm not sure I would have allowed Trent Richardson to score that late touchdown, but at least they weren't throwing the ball.

Shut your ass. It looked like a solid hit to the shoulder, which isn't so hard to fuck up, especially on a throwing arm.

I thought Texas put up a good game once they decided to let Garrett Gilbert actually play rather than just sending him orders to hand off. For all the talk of the Alabama defense, I thought the Texas D played well. There wasn't a gap in talent between these two teams.

Terrance Cody is an overrated tub of shit, and putting him in at fullback is a decision to play 10 on 11. He's too slow for the play and he doesn't really block. Fucking coaches and these dumbass gimmicks.

Whatever. McCoy is now The Roberto Duran of College Football.

And, Mount Cody is going to eat an ENTIRE In N Out Burger after the game. And I mean the whole thing -- bricks, mortar, chairs, deep fryers, commodes.

Does anyone else find amusement in the SEC commercial with the highway signs for each school? One school is working on alternative fuels, another on some supercomputer and Vanderbilt is building bionic arms, but the University of Florida, well Mr. President, that is the birthplace of fucking Gatorade. That's without even mentioning that was forty-something years ago.

You guys realize Texas had the #1 rush defense in the country and were, I think, 8th in team defense, right?

Hard to say what moves media morons to do what they do; however, here's a little actual perspective on academic and research accomplishments, according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, which has been evaluating and ranking the top 100 worldwide institutions of higher learning. Note that it says World universities, and here's a little description of the factors evaluated for inclusion in the list:

"The ranking compared 1200 higher education institutions worldwide according to a formula that took into account alumni winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals (10 percent), staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals (20 percent), highly-cited researchers in 21 broad subject categories (20 percent), articles published in Nature and Science (20 percent), the Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index (20 percent) and the per capita academic performance (on the indicators above) of an institution (10 percent). "

Since its inception in 2003, only 2 SEC universities have ever shown up on the ARWU list, the University of Florida and Vanderbilt, and both universities have been on that list every year.

Jim Leavitt has been fired as South Florida's football coach, a source close to the coaching staff tells ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel.

Leavitt has been under investigation by the university for allegedly grabbing and striking a player at halftime of a November game.

South Florida's findings of its investigation will be released later Friday, AOL Fanhouse reports.

That's 3 of 3 fired for an alleged abuse incident/incidences this year.

While this list is weighted to hard sciences (as opposed to other ranking methodologies, like the USNews and World Report annual list... e.g. Dartmouth is not in the top 100 on ARWU ), it is fairly well respected. Pac 10 schools over the years have had increasing ambitions about academic standing, and the issue of admitting "student athletes" has been more problematic. At UCLA (which ranks #11 on the list) the standards for admission of scholarship athletes is actually higher than both Stanford and Berkeley (#2 and #3), in large part because of the universities voracious appetite for "academic quality."

Pac 10 has 4 schools in the top 20. 7 schools in the top 100. All 10 schools on list. Only conference even close is Big 10.

Texas Tech has hired Tommy Tuberville.

Prediction: He wins the Big 12 in 3 years.

Also, RAMPANT rumors flying everywhere right now that a contract has been offered to Kirby Smart by UGA to be the next DC. SOURCE: WSBTV news

Totally unsubstantiated speculation from random guy I know: possibly 850K deal

Also:

David Pollack twitter tweet:

“Georgia fans your DC (should) be coming soon. I don’t think anyone will care about the wait anymore. From what I am getting guys I think Georgia has made a very SMART choice on (its) next DC, nothing 100% but def looks good. From what I have gotten it is already a done deal. How does that make you feel Georgia fans? Remember guys I not saying this is 100%, but it looks to be the case.”
