SHOCKING he thinks that right now.

More shocking still is that he put a subject and a predicate together.

In EPIC FUCKING DOUCHEBAG news:

Lane Kiffin has agreed in principle to become the next coach at Southern Cal.

I mean, I knew he was a piece of shit but what the fuck??

He better be outside of the state lines as of right now.

Meanwhile, it's KIPPY TIME at UT.

And personally, I think this is a smart move on Kiffin's part--you get back to your and Orgeron's recruiting base, you bring Daddy Monte along, the whole LA>Knoxville thing etc.

I do not understand for the life of me what makes Lane Kiffin such a hot commodity. What has he done as a head coach? I know he was an assistant at Southern Cal - Maybe he knows the inner workings of the SC boosters a la Reggie Bush/ Joe McKnight. Karma is a bitch!

I believe that Tennessee would have to pay Tejas a shit ton of cash to get his services, I also believe that was the main issue with why Auburn could not net him last year. His head coach in waiting contract doesn't specify when he gets the Longhorn job, but I thought it does say something about him leaving,

I don't really think Lane Kiffin is that much of a hot commodity right now, but I think the SC people think he is a safe fall back plan. They had been rejected by two other coaches who either got extensions or reprieves from their current teams, and were on the verge of looking desperate. They definitely needed to get a coach in their to save the recruiting class, and I'm guessing Mike Garrett though Kiffin was better than Sarkisian.

These coaches jumping ship fiascos need to be regulated in some way. I don't know how...but it's getting a little ridiculous.

So ESPN reports there was NOTHING wrong with Colt McCoy's shoulder in the BCS Championship. Orthopedist to the stars, Dr. James Andrews, said there were no issues at all. Way to leave a legacy chump.

Priceless. IT'S TIME BITCH.

I have no place in my heart for UT but I certainly hope Kiffin goes down in flames and the NCAA drops the hammer on USC next month. If they do, he'll last 2 years before bolting.

Well, yeah. Be mediocre for your 2.5 year head coaching career and fall ass backwards into cash? Sign me up.

Bigger question is why would USC hire him outside of his recruiting ties?

The whole thing is just Petrino-esque. UT got PETRINO-ED (Trademark)

Are you sure? Just the way he was holding it coming off the field didn't look right. I haven't seen/heard the ESPN report, but a li'l Googlin' has Andrews saying that there was nothing that would prevent him from performing in the combine.

Rumors I have heard already are: Fat Chuck Mangina or Kirbo Smart to Tennessee.

In the end, Tennessee will see that this is the best thing that has ever happened to them. They might lose a recruiting class, but they get rid of one of the most impolitic coaches of all time, and a guy who just didn't fit the SEC mold.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP)—New Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville has chosen Neal Brown of Troy to be his offensive coordinator.

Troy spokesman Ricky Hazel said Tuesday that the 29-year-old Brown, whose Trojans had the nation’s third-best offense last season, will take over play calling at Texas Tech.

Brown succeeds fired coach Mike Leach, who was the pass-heavy offensive coordinator until his dismissal last month amid allegations he mistreated a player who had a concussion. Leach denies the claims.

Brown, who just finished his fourth season at the Alabama school, had the Trojans averaging 485.7 yards of total offense per game.

Brown was a wide receiver at Kentucky and Massachusetts

FYI:
Tony Franklin, the man who Tuberville brought into run the Auburn Defense and then fired mid-season in 2008 was the OC at Troy before this guy.

Phillip Fulmer has been contacted by Tennessee and is "receptive" according to a report on Sportscenter that stemmed from something that will be filed by ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski.

ESPN reported that Boosters contacted him about either coming in as the AD or coming back as Football coach.

A pinched nerve aka a STINGER? All you do is work that out with a massage or muscle stimulation. I've had a stinger. Yes, you lose use of your arm for about 20 minutes, but then it's ok. I still call bullshit on McCoy.

It's funny, I actually said that during the game when they said his arm was numb and he wouldn't return.

What a fucking pussy.

I said during the game, that I thought the hit looked pretty weak , but a "stinger" in his shoulder has been a repetitive injury in his career. He suffered one during the 2006 Kanas State game while trying to run a QB sneak for a touchdown and the 2006 Lonestar showdown game against A&M on a possible helmet to helmet hit.
Like concussions, recurring stingers are allegedly quite dangerous and can lead to paralysis of an extremity.
I'm not disputing that he may be too soft to play NFL football, but if your arm is truly numb and you can't throw a football, I don't know why you'd bring him back in as a QB in a title game.

Good News for Harry

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Offensive coordinator Norm Chow is staying at UCLA, rebuffing overtures from Lane Kiffin to return to Southern California.

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel confirmed Thursday that Chow, a widely respected offensive mastermind during nearly four decades in college football, will be back for a third season with the Bruins.

USC athletic director Mike Garrett acknowledged Wednesday he hoped to lure Chow to Kiffin's new staff with a lucrative offer, but Chow decided not to switch sides in Los Angeles' fierce football rivalry.

"I appreciate the interest from USC and Lane Kiffin, but I feel we are building something special here at UCLA, and I am excited about our future," Chow said. "We have some outstanding young players in the program, and we're working hard on finishing strong in recruiting."

Bowl Game viewership stats/Nielsen ratings for this year.

Nice job by the UGA fans to dramatically improve the numbers for the Independence Bowl, and check out the improvement for the Texas Bowl, where Navy beat down Missouri.

I blame the Arizona fans for the lack of Holiday Bowl viewership, since the Gator Bowl dropped from last year, and the Huskers played in that game.

Also, that was quite the drop in viewership for the Fiesta Bowl.
