Yep, all over it.

I quietly wept during the scene in question.

Pretty cool how you can stream old episodes from Netflix.

That's cool. I'm always amazed at what they have on there that I don't look for, but should.

On the production front, I've always enjoyed the way the credits mimicked whatever country/culture they were visiting.

Yeah, I blazed through the vast majority of all the episodes. Such an awesome show.

He's in town, and unfortunately I can't go. I love his books, and catch the TV show occasionally. He's a cool dude with a great attitude about food.

yeah, the show took a more mature tone last season into this one. Dealing with current social climate affecting old cultures, etc. The Laos ep really picked this up. One of my favorites from the last couple of seasons was Sao Paolo. You got the feeling that Tony has really been affected by his experiences by way of his "day job" (and what a fucking incredible job it is). Columbia and Chile were also good from the last season.

Currently one of my favorite shows on TV. WHat is better than an obnoxious drunk with a bent for rock n roll and hard drugs travelling the world and eating the best of the best the locals have to offer?

No shit.

Favorite moments:
Hanging with Snoop from The Wire in Baltimore
Trolling Cleveland with Marky Ramone, Harvey Pekar, and Toby
The entire New Orleans episode, especially the sitdown with his nemesis Emeril
Getting massage raped in Uzbekistan.

sure, sometimes he can get into that self-important territory, but the show is great.

Just picked up Kitchen Confidential on a whim. Never read nor do I really know much about Bourdain.

I was watching Miami Ink, and he was on there to get a skull tattoo from Chris Garver. Anyway, he said that he picks the locales, which is pretty awesome. That sometimes he just picks a place like Miami, because he wants to lay on the beach. That's an amazing leverage to have. It'd be cool to just be like, "yeah I was wanna go to Russia" and someone makes it happen.

It's a good read especially if you've spent even a minute working in a restaurant.
