i hate coach k so much because he coaches duke, but holy fuck that guy says all the right things and coaches the right way. the exact opposite of bobby knight. i respect the hell out of him and wish that he would retire or coach the Blazers or something.

I mean, the one time I have to root for these assholes, and they shit the bed.

Props to: Robotboy (for beating me, and Chad and Pagoda for being Mich State homers.

Chase, Kung fu, Ayah, E-stone (who am I forgetting) for consistent and udder Duke hate.

Fuck you, Fuck you, Fuck you, YOU'RE COOL, Fuck you, I'm out. (of the obner bracket whatevere)

my brother in law is a cop in raleigh, and he was so happy tht state lost because they made him work a 12 hour shift in the expectation that, if they beat wisconsin, then the streets would erupt in riots, even though the bandwagon's only been filling up in the past week.

MSU's win is bittersweet. As much as I enjoy Duke losing, I can't help but think this puts R. Williams' Tar Heels squad that much closer to the national title. I love Roy to bits, so it's going to be a viscious pill to swallow should they win it all. It'd be equivalent to my childhood hero (and Anusol spokesman) George Brett leaving KC to play & win the WS with a B. Martin-led Yankees team. Or as excruciatingly painful as my teenage girlfriend's handjobs.

edit: excruciating has two c's

well it would be the same if brett had played for and worked for the yankees and his wife was constantly nagging him to go back to new york and his kid went to college there.

Quite possibly. Are you also a victim of Phoebe Smith's so-called 'foreplay'?

Spend any time in Manhattan or Lawrence as a youngster? I think most of Ft. Riley's brats spend time in Junction City, right? Either way, if you're a proper KU fan, Williams' departure still hurts. We share the pain. I'm really trying to like Self, but it's tough with all of Roy's successes in Chapel Hill. I'm rooting on the 'Heels for some odd reason, but I still hate the fuck out of Eric Montross.

Three hours later and I still can't believe what I saw.
Izzo sending players in in waves - including a pair of Flint boys who came up when they needed to.
Paul Davis looking like he might have a spine
JJ bucking like a belt
Coach K - a fellow Polack, so this hurts a little — looking the perfect mix of pissed-off and confused

Damn me for not going to EL tonight to watch the game. Though, in my defense, I think the city is still cleaning up the mess from the riots that ensued the last time we played Duke (and lost) in the tourney. Never know what could've happened.

My team found its heart tonight, and it feels good.

See, you be knowin. I actually attended JCHS at one point, and my bro gradiated from there. Where are you actually from? That may narrow it down...but I spent some time in both Manhattan and Lawrence in the early ninties.

Don't worry, Roy won't win the NC. As much as I hate Duke, I'm starting to equally hate NC because Roy was still calling his former players at KU and chatting them up during the season and listening to their whines and complaints. Some say that is because he cares, I say that that's why KU never toughened up and listened to Self. Fuck Roy. Hope he's always the bridesmaid.

All in all, I would prefer Louisville to win at this point. CUSA confernece (this final year for em there), and it would be nice to see the "power" conferences lose.

As a KU die-hard, I'll be happy for Roy if he wins it all. Life's too short to be bitter about that kinda stuff.

Having said that...I wasn't a fan of his staying in close touch with his former players, & I still think he'll find a way to fuck it up in this tourney.

They squeaked out of this game w/Nova, who for lack of a better cliche "deserved to win."

Strangely, KU pulled a classic Roy flop in the 1st Round, which prompted much of my shenanagans in NO last friday.

One that I place squarely at the feet of the players, not the coaching staff. They thought they could just turn it on when they wanted, which NEVER works.

Yeah, but what about the decision not to press until like the last 3 minutes? It's always a combination of factors that leads to KU's downfall, which is why they are the perfect team for a UGA Football fan...both teams always have the talent, but never get over the fucking hump.

For a die-hard KU fan, you sure don't sound like one. Lose the rationale and blame everything on coach - just like the good 'ol days.

Gar, did hard time (MS/HS) in both Manhattan & Lawrence, but spent most of my childhood in the Little Apple. Ask your pops about a Lt. (or some other high ranking) Hogaboom at Big Red One. I used to light fires and break into elementary schools with his son, Jason. I met loads of brats through this family, so you never know, there might be a Gar-Moxie connection in there somewhere.

Are we the same age-ish? I'll be 2-8 in July.

Went to Ft. Riley JHS/MS in 89-90 and JCHS in 91...but I mostly hung with other brats. Kinda weird all the same...

I also lived in Leavenworth in the mid 80s, for war crimes ;)
