I've always hoped that wild dogs would tear Leno apart. He makes Bob Hope seem like Kinison.

Leno's a car guy. Points in my book.

seriously, Leno needs to just go away.

I don't understand this. He's pretty widely regarded as one of the only nice people in Hollywood. I don't find him funny, but Conan is truly unwatchable. Not funny, not amusing, bad interviewer, snooooooooze.

I pretty much hate Letterman too.

I can kinda get why people don't like Conan I guess, I'm a fan however...but Leno is a retard...worst interviewer ever, totally unfunny, and unwatchable.

Letterman is awesome.

You sir are on crack

yeah, conan's a bad interviewer, but it's not like leno's charlie rose (or even tom snyder). it's also not like more than 2% of the audience cares about a host's interviewing skills if they bring the funny consistently. and conan's shown he can do that, even now that he's had to dump a few regular bits to be more middle of the road.

Read "The Late Shift" to find out what kind of a douche Leno is. Letterman was my god as a teenager and he had the Tonight Show stolen from him. I respect Leno's car collection, but nothing else about him.

I really, really want Leno's motorcycle collection. That fucking guy... he has everything. Like, one of everything. All lined up in a garage with a guy who just makes sure shit runs. I like the fact that he catalogs them and talks about them and posts reviews and videos and shit, but I do not find him funny, ever.

Conan has looked really awkward and off kilter at 1130...leno is pretty smooth and keeps to the shit that works. I don't care for him though.

Jay Leno looks like an asshole to me. I don't watch his show, and have only seen snippets of him talking, but my god he looks like an asshole. It's something about his face.

I've been watching Conan since I was 11 or 12 and didn't understand anything that was going on during his show. At this point, I'm just completely endeared to him. I tried, but could never make it through a Leno monologue to even see the rest of his show.

I'm outside his target audience, but the few times I've tried to watch him, I thought O'Brien was singularly unfunny. Same for Leno, who, in addition, has always come off as a turd-biter to me. Letterman can be funny sporadically, and he banged an intern. Letterman in a landslide.

leno is the worst. it's a proven fact that the funniest part of the show is headlines and jaywalking, which are other people and newspapers being funny, not leno.

when leno does an interview, he often makes creepy sex/sexist jokes with the female guests. he tries to do it with an elbow-in-the-ribs delivery but it's just dumb. whenever he interviews a 12 year old actor or guest, he ALWAYS asks if the kid has a girlfriend, as if it were a hilarious and cute joke. ugh. he's the worst.

conan is silly and funny. he mostly likes to laugh with the guest and audience, and the promotion of the movie/show/etc. is secondary. love him.

i like letterman's interviews because he masterfully is welcoming, encouraging, and kind while simultaneously putting a guest on the hot spot if they did something tabloid-ish recently.

The only problem with Letterman is Paul Shaffer. I don't know why he didn't just fire that guy a long time ago and get a parrot.

That's because Leno's "audience" are all 60+. I've never met anyone in my age group that thinks Leno is funny. Conan is quirky and quite honestly, with this whole debacle going on right now? He's funnier than ever. Dave wins hands-down in the competition though.

I also happen to think that Conan and Andy make a pretty good duo during late night too.

Agree with everything. Letterman, Conan, so forth and so on. I'm far more upset about the pushing out of Conan than I probably should be, but it must have something to do with the watching him for more than half of my life thing, and because of that I've been a fan of Andy Richter for a while now as well.

...and Shaffer does suck something fierce.

Oh I loved watching Conan in high school. I hardly ever missed it. But he never really developed his shtick much beyond that (this was mid-to-late '90s), and even with Andy Richter back with him on the show, it just doesn't make me laugh like it did back then.

For me just about all the late night dudes are pretty much the same. Except that Jay Leno is definitely the worst. And Jimmy Fallon shouldn't be anywhere near having his own show. He shouldn't be on any show at all. He should be working at a Baskin Robbins or something.

I don't know how anyone under the age of 60 can think that Letterman and Conan aren't funny, but this is Obner. Maybe watch "The Hangover" for the 19th time instead?

I do respect Conan's work with The Simpsons, but the over-reliance on non sequitur and absurdity is bothersome.

The funniest thing he ever did was "In the Year 2000."

as a person under 60 years old, it almost pains me to say that it is mind-blowing to watch clips of leno in the 70s and 80s where he's actually pretty funny. but for the last 20+ years he's been extremely unfunny. my father watched leno's tonight show almost religiously for years, so i've heard enough to last a lifetime.

Letterman is remarkably funny considering how long he been doing his show. He was better when he could get away with more on the Late Late Show, but he still manages to put on a fairly edgy and often funny show 5 days a week.

My rankings:

Craig Ferguson

Conan O'Brien
Jay Leno

Maybe I need to start going to bed earlier.

How is Kimmel worse than Leno? I mean, granted, he's not funny, but he's not grating, either.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Kimmel ripped apart by dogs either.
