Martin Scorsese gave one of the best, most gracious acceptance speeches that I have ever heard at one of these things -- especially for a lifetime achievement-type award. I did not expect that. He never came off (to me) as a particularly good or eloquent speaker in the times that I have seen him interviewed, or speak publically. Just a really pleasant surprise.

I was also happy to see Robert Downey win for Sherlock Holmes. He made that movie.

Was happy to see that Christophe Waltz got recognized for his amazing work in Inglourious Basterds. Damn fine piece of acting. Plus the guy appears to just have "it".

Personally, I thought he rocked. Very funny and rather scathing humor in addition to a penis joke in the first 10 minutes so it's pretty much a done deal he wont be asked back.

That was pretty much the only part of the show I saw and I'm glad I did.

I get it physically but we'd have to have a No Talking rule.

No way, the Crazy Talking is half the appeal.

Okay, maybe 20%.
