I'll root for Saints. You all know my aversion to the Co...uh, Indianapolis.

Lakers about, what, five games in front of the Celts?

how's this road trip going?

Talk to me in June...

You know it.

Though if the Lakers pull off the Bynum for Bosh trade, I'll just go ahead and PP you the cash. Fuck that.

something tells me the colts will not play nearly as sloppy as the vikings

colts 31-27

I took some sort of sick satisfaction in watching Favre walk off that field a looser last night.
But also, was damn happy for the Saints. Good on 'em for making it to the SB for the first time!
I'm rooting for them to take down Manning and the Colts, too.

So Favre is definitely playing next year right? What with him having one of his best seasons and nearly getting to another Super Bowl, I can't see him "retiring" again.

Just heard that he said it was "very unlikely" that he'd come back.

my boss and i were just talking about that. she doesn't think he's coming back, but i totally think he does. he had a really good season and almost got to the super bowl. that isn't sticking it to the packers enough.

Something tells me that Saints won't commit 5 personal foul penalities to extend drives that result in points for the Colts.

Something tells me that Drew Brees won't throw for under 200 yards against the Colts.

Something tells me the Saints will have more than 275 yards of total offense.

The Saints went 13-3 by doing a little more than catching teams playing sloppy, don't cha think?

Sober up dude. That last pass interference call was BS and it came at the biggest moment of the game. Great game that didn't need that. I also don't really think he got the 1st down on the last drive but that's just me. But hey, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Congrats to 'em though. I was pulling for the city (NOT the Saints). Hopefully there will be some deserved "Katrina: 4 years later" stories in the next 2 weeks to raise some awareness to how things are still fucked up down there. Better that than a 2 week BJ of Favruh.

Also, I feel you on your "life affirming moment" right now as I have also experienced it along with 2 weeks of believing the Falcons could win. Only to wake that sunny Super Bowl Sunday to reports of human cautionary tale Eugene Robinson getting arrested for getting blown in a car.

Imagine waking up Super Bowl Sunday and Jonathan Vilma was getting out of jail around 7am. Fucking disaster.

The 2 week break definitely favors the saints. No one is as hot as the colts right now and conversely something looked off with Brees yesterday.

If the Cards could keep it close against the Steelers, the Saints can play it close against the Colts. Most of the first-time Super Bowl teams this past decade have played quite well, so I'm expecting New Orleans to do so.

Now that I'm sober, I agree with you that the first down was questionable but it was close.

I don't think the pass interference was bs at all. The guy wasn't playing the ball and put his hands on him. They call it all the time.

people think it was a BS call because the ball was 100% uncatchable.

You have to guarantee both teams get a chance to score in OT.
I know the college system isn't perfect, but I'd say something similar to that.
Maybe four downs from the 25, and that you must score a touchdown. The only way to get additional downs is via a penalty.
