Anyone else interested?

I hope to be wowed by it. I hope it has some new technology that we've yet to see and that it's not just a big iPod Touch.

I'm hoping for the "wow" too. Not sure that it will be fully baked on gen1. Probably going to revolutionize print distribution in the longer term.

I think the pricing will be the most important thing revealed. If they can get it below $700, I think the market will open up to people that wouldn't normally buy a laptop. I base 100% of this opinion upon the fact that my dad wants one.

im currently on tmobile, but they recently switched my plan to their Even More Plus plan. and i believe one of the terms of it is that i dont get discounts on the hardware. so, that plus the contract ending in sept. would most likely mean i'm off to verizon. if all of this is true, of course.

i played with a nexus one today. pretty cool. i'm sure the next iphone will be unstoppable tho. esp w/ multitasking and (hopefully) 64GB capacity or more.

Price will be a big factor. I'm interested, but not holding my breath for anything but a glorified ipod touch.

I'm not at all happy with windows 7 and have already been considering a Macbook. It's all about the price for me. I'm hoping for $700ish, but I'm not optimistic.

I think it is fair to assume that initial launch models will be priced at a premium. However, if the tablet is worthwhile enough to have longevity, that price will drop at a relatively nice pace.

Just some advice from a guy who has never owned anything but an Apple -- Wait for the 2.0 version before purchasing. They get all the suckers to buy the new sht, and complain about it, fix there complaints/work out the kinks, and come out with a better version within @ 6 months.

Ipad's a terrible name. I can't hear it without thinking of Aunt Flo.

I don't see the lameness in it so far. As a laptop replacement, all it needs is the basics--wireless, email, and web. I keep a laptop in my living room for web access, and this looks like a much more convienient option. Haven't seen what other wizbangs it has though. I might be interested in v2, if/when it comes out.
