No thread on this yet so I'll start it.

Having never seen a second of this show before April of 2009, I watched all five seasons in a relatively short period of time. I finished the final episode of season five on Sunday night. The show has it's flaws, but they're relatively minor and, at this point, I would put Lost as my second favorite series of all time. Second only to The Wire and that's almost in a category of its own.

Two observations/expectations:

1) Evangaline Lilly is one of the top five most beautiful women on the planet. There's something about the Kate character that is 100% appealing to me. Exhibit A:

Image

2) There is very little chance they will answer all the questions I have in a satisfactory manner. For instance, why the hell did everyone keep seeing Walt in the jungle after he was abducted. It seems to me that, once he got too old, they just stopped using him as a character.

*Spoiler Alert*

I found out what was going to happen in the final episode.

"As the viewer pans away from the island, the scene changes to Donald Westphall's autistic son Tommy, and Daniel Auschlander in an apartment building. Westphall arrives home from a day of work, and it is clear that he works in construction from the uniform he wears and from a conversation in this scene. "Auschlander" is revealed to be Donald's father, and thus Tommy's grandfather. Donald laments to his father, "I don't understand this autism thing, Pop. Here's my son. I talk to him. I don't even know if he can hear me, because he sits there, all day long, in his own world, staring at that toy. What's he thinkin' about?" (A reference to the rock opera, Tommy by The Who) The toy is revealed to be a snow globe with a replica of the island inside. Tommy shakes the snow globe, and is told by his father to come and wash his hands. Donald Westphall places the snow globe on the family's television set and walks into the kitchen and the camera closes in on the snow globe."

Meh. Marginally less boring than the average die-cut model/actress, IMO.

Recap's at 8, premier starts at 9.

I totally thought this was going to be tomorrow until I saw a bunch of people posting about it on Facebook today.

God I'm so sick of attractive models and actresses.

My gf watched seasons 1-5 while she was on the mend for a dislocated kneecap last fall, so it'll be nice to have someone to watch it with since my friends inevitably flake out on watching it live.

Can't wait for tonight. Sad that it's the last year. My frustrations with needing answers will probably be less significant than the loss of this show in my "looking-forward-to-..." attitude each tv season.

That said, I think Kate is one of the least attractive people on the show. Of course, it may have something to do with the fact that she kinda reminds me of my sister in the face. That never does wonders for finding someone attractive.

I was exactly thrilled with it, particularly with this whole new group of people who were just hanging out behind the curtain waiting for their plot moment.

Also, I'm wondering how much Dark Tower is going to play into this, particularly Book IV with the mental doubling.

Good interview with executive producers Lindelof and Cuse:

Other than the amateurish CGI, I dug last night's premiere. Really interested to see how the two alternate realities will come together.

Reminds me of the smoke monster surrounding Ben to make him atone for his daughter last season.

Unrelated, but...Frogurt and Arzt!
