First off, Hobgoblin wasn't a member of the Osborn family at all. He was a b-rate supervillain named Jack O'Lantern who got ahold of the Green Goblin weaponry and used it to his advantage.

If Harry becomes anything, it will be Green Goblin II. On that note, having the Green Goblin as the main villain again in the film is likely to disappoint audiences since Spidey has such a wide range of villains to choose from. Despite the logical nature of the story with Harry, people will still be like "Oh, repeats already?"

If anything, I get the feeling S3 will feature Harry in the background grappling with his problems and fighting between keeping his sanity and his dad's ghost. They might even go into the notorious storyline where Harry becomes a drug addict.

Venom is far, far too soon. Considering Doc Ock made his debut in ASM #3, jumping ahead to Venom would mean skipping about twenty years of Spider-Man history. That's inexcusable.

We've already seen the Lizard in human form so it's obviously not going to be him. So my definitive guess is... I don't know.

I would love for Sandman or Electro to be in it. Maybe go with two villains and intertwine their stories. You could use Scorpion or Vulture instead. They all gave him a run for his money in the early days. And they can always tie in the Black Cat and the Man-Wolf as a secondary storyline.

An Avengers movie would be cool but then you've got the problem of having to establish the origins of at least 5 superheroes in 1 movie.

Steve

x-men had like 6 superheroes. x-men 2 was much better though.

Yeah, but, Bort, the origins for all of them are the same-they're mutants. You do an Avengers movie and you've got to establish Captain America, Thor, Iron Man etc etc.

I have this comic.

I did at one time too. Would have been in Fine condition but the spine was kinda weak. Sold it for megabucks before moving to Atlanta.

actually, i could see THC as scorpion, sandman, chameleon or electro since neither of them have an actual "look" to them.

yep, that's him. he'll be the wolf guy & parker's friend will be goblin 2. i bet a random obner soul on it.

There were actually 2 Hobgoblin's. The first one was Ned Leeds who was a Daily Bugle reporter and then he got murdered and Jason Macendale (Jack O'Lantern) acquired his equipment and was #2. I'm a nerd.

Yeah I do. I've been considering giving them up because I have at least 20 full comic boxes that I have no idea what I'm going to do with.

Comic nerd here also.

I have 23 longboxes that I am currently pricing for an ebay sale or some such. I may change my mind, though.

I loved collecting comics but I just can't afford to do it anymore (and maintain my crack habit, that is).

--Kraven was an excellent villain, he could be revamped in some way.
--Venom would look great with state-of-the-art CGI effects.
--The Lizard would be a lot of fun.
--I always dug Man-Wolf too, which surprised Mark Gruenwald when I spoke with him at one of the Chicago Comicons. He hated the character.
--I'm betting Black Cat will show up to give MJ some competition.
--Did anyone else here hate the Green Goblin's portrayal in the first film?

--I'd see an Avengers film without question. They've always been my favorite hero team. DC side, it's been the Legion of Super Heroes but their story has been fucked up countless times over the years.

--By the way, Sin City looks incredible but I have steered clear of Constantine. I love the character far too much to let Keanu ruin him for me.

I'm checking out that Grant Morrison Seven Soldiers thing. The first issue was really good but the spinoffs (Manhattan Guardian) are kind of silly.

The New Avengers is pretty good.

The new Age Of Apocalypse is decent.

As much as I want to dislike him, Judd Winick (Real World dude) has done some really good stuff on Green Arrow and Batman.

I like most of the main X-Men books but there's way too many that I can't read them all. The ones I stick with are X-Men, Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men and Astonishing X-Men. I like District X for some unknown reason too.

I also gave up on most of the Marvel Ultimate titles except for The Ultimates. I think Bendis' writing on Ultimate Spider Man is really horrible.

I really liked Hard Time and Kinetic from that new DC Focus line. Too bad they're cancelled now. (I think)

Other stuff I really like
Punisher
100 Bullets
Y The Last Man
Daredevil
The Losers
Desperados
30 Days Of Night
Fallen Angel

Yeah, I like The New Avengers. I really got into Avengers Disassembled.

I am not into any of the Ultimate comics. I started to read The Ultimates, but could'nt get into it. I'm more of a DC fan than Marvel.

I was so disappointed in Wolverine's Enemy of The State, that I did'nt
even read that last issue.

Yes, I agree. Judd W. is doing a great job with Batman.

I did'nt know he was doing Green Arrow.

I never read The Avengers so I missed the whole Avengers Disassembled thing. I just browsed a few of the issues when Hawkeye and the other dude died.

Really? I thought it was a pretty good storyline. I wanna see him face off against that Gorgon dude.

Yeah Judd was doing Green Arrow before Batman. I'm dying to find out who that Red Hood guy is in the Batman book.

Me too.
Have you read Superman 'For Tomorrow"? It's not that great.
Nightwing Year 1 is pretty good.

The latest Outsiders was great. Deathstroke posing as Batman = CRAZY!

I'm not into the Superman or Outsiders books.

Nightwing is one of those comics I'm always on the verge of dropping but I just never get around to it. It's decent but nothing I go crazy over.

What'd you think of Identity Crisis? The first 3 or 4 issues were great but I think they kind of ruined the ending. That fight with Deathstroke was pretty awesome.

I know an Iron Man movie is in the works. If they were ever to do an Avengers film, I think they'd have to get Captain America and Thor films out of the way first.

Characters like the Wasp and Hank Pym can be introduced in the Avengers film, but Cap, Thor and IM need their separate time.

The New Avengers series is pretty intriguing so far and I'm actually really into the Young Avengers, just because I want to see where it's going.

At first, I was really into it, but the ending just sucked.
I loved what happened with Batman (his memory). Kinda why I cant wait for DC Countdown. Villains United will be very cool as well.
Also, I cant wait for Alex Ross' JLA book, comming soon.

Artisan bought the rights to all these Marvel characters.
I heard about Iron Man. I'm not sure how good it will be, tho.

I'm not sure if they could get Cap or Thor greenlighted. I just dont think enought people will be interested in them, although, Sub Mariner is also in the works (ew)..

I dobut there will ever be an Avengers film. Next year there will be an Avengers cartoon direct to dvd. I cant wait for that.

I'm still wondering if Ghost Rider will be any good.
Nic Cage as a superhero? I just cant see it, but who knows.

1. Who is the lizard in real life?

2. Why does that preclude him from appearing?

Im not sure what his name is, but he is some scientist that (I think) accidentally turned himself into a lizzard.
He may be in it. I've read that the lizzard is a possibility.

I was surprised they didn't try and capitalize on a Captain America film after 9/11. It probably would've done wonders. I think a new Cap film could do really well and obviously the old one wouldn't have much bearing on it as was seen with the success of the Punisher.

The lizard is Dr. Curt Connor. He only has one arm. He lives in the Florida everglades with his wife and son, Billy. He discovered that lizards have regenerative powers, i.e. if you cut off a limb, it will slowly regrow it. Using this concept, he experimented on himself in an attempt to get his arm back. Of course, it went horribly wrong and he turned into a giant Lizard-type creature with strong strength, an even stronger tail, and a tendency to draw out his the letter s when he talks.

Since Thomas Haden Church has been named as the main villain in the film, and Curt Connor was already seen in Spider-Man 2 in human form, played by someone who wasn't T.H. Church, it's likely he won't be it.

I wonder if they're going to release another version of the Spider Man 2 dvd? I've put off buying it because I keep thinking there's going to be another one with an assload of extras.
