You have to block each game and application individually. Just roll over the post and a "Hide" appears on the top right.

Yep, everytime someone shows up with an "update" that's really just an ad for that application, you block that app and it never shows up again. About once a week or so a brand new one shows up, and I block it too.

Yeah, or people who post 95% shit that does me no good. I get pissed when I see something really good on a friend's page that didn't "make the cut" to the news feed, yet I have 42 updates about some chick I barely knew in 1992's new haircut.

I think of my 100 or so facebook friends, I think I've blocked at least half them, including family. It's a clean and clutter-free.

Well, given that you can post to Twitter (or at least Identi.ca) via XMPP (known to the unwashed masses as "GTalk" or some such), GMail would be such a site, but I hardly recommend anybody replace Facebook with more Google.

WHY DON"T ALL MY NEWS FEEDS SHOW UP?

It's like they only let what they want to display in my list. What gives them the right to decide what is news? If I can't see it, I can't respond! I posted some photos of the kids last night, and they didn't show up in my wife's feed. She had to go to my page directly to post and see comments.
