I think it has been posted before, but there is supposed to be a Deluxe version of Exile coming out with massive outtakes, audial Big H shots, and possibly the croaking of a French Whore in the bathroom studio...or whatever went on at Ville Nellcote.

With the news that the Rolling Stones will be reissuing their 1972 classic, Exile on Main Street this spring, speculation has begun to mount regarding how deluxe and expanded the reissue will be. Will it contain unreleased songs? Will it contain alternate versions of previously released material? Will there be a vinyl version? Finally, which members of the Rolling Stones--past and present, will be involved in this reissue? Will it bring renewed involvement by bassist Bill Wyman, who retired from the group in 1992, or even Mick Taylor, who played on Exile and with the band from 1969-1974? Will songs featuring Gram Parsons, who was present at Nellcôte during the summer of 1971 finally surface?

All of these questions remain unanswered, yet, at least three previously unreleased songs have already been reported to be on this new reissue: Following The River, Plunder My Soul, and Sophia Loren. The question that remains is how much more will be released?

Late last year, the band released an expanded super deluxe vinyl reissue of their live album, Get Yer Ya-Yas Out, that included previously unreleased concert material, a DVD featuring concert footage from Madison Square Garden, and full-sized liner notes and photos from famed photographer Ethan Russell, who originally documented the 1969 tour from which the album was sourced.

Although the Exile reissue will be released by the Universal Music Group (UMG) rather than Abkco (which reissued the Ya-Yas release), it should be fairly safe to assume that this expanded release will follow a similar format given the legendary status that Exile has amassed over the years.
