Yeah, I started using it but I'm a little concerned with the privacy settings too. So, I've only shared links with a few people. Also, I think it's more than 100 MBs.

i'm out on google buzz. i don't want employers to search for me and find my google buzz nonsense posts. i guess that's one reason i'm semi-comfortable with facebook. it's a walled garden (at least according to my privacy settings).

I'm normally into Google's new ideas and offerings but this is one I won't be participating in. I rarely update my Facebook status as it is and Google is already tracking more of what I do than I care to think about.

I tried it for a couple of days but yah, this is a no for me too.

I already make enough noise on facebook - do I really want to annoy my gmail contacts too?

and yeah... it's basically a horrible collision of
a) gmail : pretty much the most private way to communicate online (ie email)
and
b) twitter : pretty much one of the least private forms for communication online (unless you lock everything down you have no control over who follows you and therefore no control over who reads your tweets)

so experience with Buzz was:

a friend sends me a message on it, it's all jumbled up with the emails I have from him so it's not clear if it's private or public -- and then of course I realize there's all these complete strangers following me so they can read everything. woohoo!

so it's either annoy your friends with non-personal stuff or and open your personal stuff up to strangers : no thanks

(can you tell I'm a little crabby today?)

Speaking of which, (I'm sure this is somewhere on here already) but what is with the Google bot always on here. Is it something that makes Obner more searchable or something? I find its presence a bit creepy.

Google frequently indexes (and reindexes) sites. I'm also pretty surprised at how often their bot visits obner, but i guess it's good. Maybe if their index gets good enough I won't have to fix search.

it looks like whatever the problem was with rebuilding the search index, it may have fixed itself. rebuilding now. we'll see.

I noticed on my last google-obner search that the thread urls had /board/ instead of /bb/ like it was previously. Maybe google is working with our search to get the job done. :)

Not to mention this shit: http://www.betanews.com/article/Exclusi ... 1266528065

Which prompted me to go back into the Buzz account I supposedly deleted... and sure enough all the same info was still there -- i.e. who I was following who was following me, etc.
