Goddamn this stout is good.

Hints of licorice & molasses, and is 11 fucking percent. Took my breath away.

In my fridge, I have been rotating:
Hoegaarden
Magic Hat #9
Bud Lime (don't laugh...it's quite refreshing)

I had an '07 bottle in December that was fucking sublime. The '08 is also drinking wonderfully and the '09 may be the best batch that you can drink right now!

I normally like to buy 4 of these... drink one fresh and sit on the others for a year or so.

Would totally love to try this...thought their Black Butte Porter was right on when I tried it i San Fran. Unfortunately, Deschutes does not distribute to NJ. Could get it from some place in OR, but it'll come to around $20/bottle with shipping (if I buy some other stuff, too). Worth it?

God, I wish I was still in Atlanta to drink me some Sweetwater. Loved it. The brewery tour was amazing. I checked with all the liquor stores up here and no one can get it :(

I suppose I've been taking it for granted the past 10 years, but I just never got the love some people have. I mean, if I was at a bar and 420 and Bud were the same price, I'd be drinking 420 in a heartbeat. But when I first moved here it seemed inescapable, and I got pretty sick of it.

there you go.

I got a surprise Mr / Mrs Crack visit yesterday, and gave away my bottle of Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stout. He can't get 'em around his place, and they're at the store next to me, and that shit's too good not to share with people who will love it. Gonna go replace that bottle (probably two-fold) today after work.

haven't tried it yet, so not sure it belongs in the "nice" beer thread, but Left Hand usually does me good.

Worth it? No, because you will not stop until you buy more. 8-)

Can't find it around here anymore. Must have been a small batch. Dammit.

So that bottle of Bourbon Co stout I so cavalierly gave Crack, today was sold out at the store. I scrounged the shelves carefully and found a small 12 ouncer hidden behind some other beers... Fucking bitches thinkin they can hide shit from squirrgle. I can SMELL that shit. Still though I was hoping to pick up 2x of the 22's. Have to check elsewhere.

uuuuunh I miss Bell's.

Tonight I hd a Spotted Cow from my Thanksgiving stash, then a Dogfish 90 minute IPA, then a Gouden Haven (my latest cheap case purchase... standard dutch cheap beer, like heinekin but less stinky.)
