I always happen to go to a bookstore after a particularly "movable" feast, so even though I'm in a bookstore--its probably that meal rather than the books that are giving me the urge.

Yes, and I have had discussions about this phenomenon as well. I think it has to do with the calm, peaceful, and quiet atmosphere. No stress and completely relaxed. Similar to hearing stories of people farting during Yoga classes.

If you keep magazines or books in your bathroom for "toilet reading" that you begin to correlate the two actions (reading and dropping a deuce) on some physiological level.
