To those with the iphone and gmail accounts...

I have 141 contacts in my gmail account...
Somehow when updating and syncing my iphone, it has added virtually every single email address/contact over the past 5 years to my iphone.

I cannot figure out how to (without manually going through my phone and deleting those contacts), getting back to only my 141 that i want in there...

I have went through itunes, configured my gmail account, hit sync, but nothing?

any idea's?

Wish I could be of some help, Dov, but I've got mine set to sync with my employer's Exchange Web Server instead of my Google contacts.

it may be that you have a setting in gmail to keep contacts that you email? i think maybe if you fix that setting, then resync, you can get back to 141.

Do you know how to go about that?

The thing is, a lot of these contacts that were transferred to my phone were from my old work account, and not gmail neccesarily...so i dont think the problem comes from gmail itself..

i guess it is more of an iphone question, on how to remove any contacts that didnt come from gmail, without having to do it manually...

hmmmmm
