I know that this band is not a board favorite, but I really like their output. They are releasing a new album this year for the first time in about eight years, and I'm pretty excited. Just read an article about a listening party held last week. They said in the article that Weiland looked "healthy" and was in attendance. Here's to hoping this is what I'd like it to be.

Especially after the first album, which is just so overplayed I still can't hear it, they were a solid radio-rock band for most of the 90s.

Yeah, no shit. I can't ever forsee an occasion in which I'd want to hear any of Core again. I like that 3rd album quite a lot, with 'Trippin' a Hole' or whatever it's called.

Core is pretty average, overplay or not. The next few albums are really solid, and at the time I wasn't expecting that at all.

I think it's average BECAUSE of overplay.

This album was the staple at every college kegger that I went to before I turned 21. I have so many memories with that as my soundtrack. ugh.

I'm not much of a fan. Interstate Love Song was a great single though.

Purple and Tiny Music are both great records that I still listen to periodically--just listened to the latter a few days ago.

I'll be keeping expectations sober for this one, but who knows?

I was a fan of their albums and actually went to their concert at the height of their popularity (..Tiny Music). Fucking arena show.

I, of course, was a typical high school shithead though, but that doesn't mean they couldn't write a great pop song.

Scott Weiland has proven himself to be one of the most EPIC fails of all time.

There has been tons of romanticism about heroin throughout rock n roll but for whatever reason I've never seen him as a sympathetic person. Just a fucking douchebag that couldn't get his shit together.

I mean, you get a 2nd chance with Velvet Revolver and still fucking fuck it up???

His solo career is awful.

I think this will be terrible. If not, it will only be saved by Dean Deleo.

Came out in 1996 - weren't you a 7th year senior at UGA at that point?

Seriously, one of the better mainstream radio rock singles of the 90's.

I saw them open for the Butthole Surfers back in '93--I had seats really close and it was awesome to see people cower in fear and then quickly head for the exits about 22 seconds into the Surfers set.

still mad at my friends that they were late to pick me up and we missed the flaming lips, the only reason I agreed to go.

I barely even remember the Lips playing...we were smoking many joints on the lawn and it was about 112 degrees outside.

They probably funded their next four records by doing that tour.

Let us not forget that STP put out two albums after Tiny Music and neither of them were good.

Robert DeLeo stated that the overall sound of the album will have a "'60s vibe".
