Nice. I didn't even know they had a new one on the way.

I'm an unapologetic fanboy of these dudes. "New Magnetic Wonder" was one of my favorite records of 2007.

I even picked up that B-sides and rarities disc from '08 "Electronic Projects For Musicians". Solid if uneven due to the mixed bag it is.

Thanks Chuck!

Anyone heard the White Hills' record? I'm intrigued because every review I've read has allusions to the Dead, but what I've heard on their myspace sounds more like a mix of stoner rock and psych. What's the record really sound like? They're touring with Pontiak, so that's kinda cool.

I listened to the Apples In Stereo album - it's basically them taking their psychedelic pop fixation one step further, and then letting robots play the instruments and sing the vocals. of Montreal has been heading in the same direction since Sunlandic Twins.

I listened to it once, and was left with the same impression you have. Stoner psych with drone. I didn't get much else out of it, not enough to return to it, but I remember it being good and redundant at best. Definitely detected nothing of The Dead.

What'd you think? I really liked it, light years better than the last one.

And apparently it's not the album, but still WAY better, haha.
Quote:
The Streets' next - and final - album has not leaked online, despite a compilation called 'Computers And Blues' appearing online amid claims it was the new record.

This morning (March 4) fans started sharing the 14-song file batch of Mike Skinner songs, believing it to be the follow-up to 2008's 'Everything Is Borrowed'.

However despite the speculation, the tracks contained in fact prove to be a collection of the "works in progress" that Skinner posted online last year via Twitter while he was recording the album.

Songs on the 14-track collection including 'I Love My Phone' and 'He's Behind You, He's Got Swine Flu' had previously been linked to on Skinner's official Twitter page, Twitter.com/SkinnerMike.

Bummer. Yeah, that's nothing that I need to download or check out at the moment. Its seemed pretty run-of-the-mill.

Next question: Does anyone have a rip of the newest Beck Record Club? They covered OAR by Skip Spence. Wilco peeps were involved, and I'd really like to listen rather than click on all those youtube videos.

Somebody done shot him in the thyroid.

Let me know how this is. I can't be bothered with it since I haven't really liked any Sigur Ros since Aegis Bytginfeffer.
