I downloaded a couple songs from their site (or the label's site, I don't remember), and they sounded pretty good. I may have to check out the whole album.

I just happened to be on twitter when they posted that it was up. I'll report whatever they give me--or do to me.

Not that it means anything, but Pitchfork panned this record, which was kind of bizarre in that they usually don't review any records prior to their release. I'll definitely pick this up, while I like the 3 songs I have heard, I kind of agree with Pitchfork's unfavaorable asseccment of the production. I really liked "Misssion Control", and they kill live, especially the drummer !

there is nothing remarkable about any of this band's albums, but i find each to be a pleasant enough listen. i'm listening to in the dark right now and digging it.

they're playing a ribfest in my neighborhood in a few weeks. i will definitely be there. (also on the bill for that ribfest are ike reilly, those darlins and bottle rockets. sweet lineup.)

I've got to adhere to the indie cliche here and admit I like their first one the best. Give 'Em All A Big Fat Lip doesn't have the huge sound of the later albums and, to my ears, benefits from it. Sounds more akin to that Glands album instead of a revisitation to the grunge era.

These guys any good live? They are playing down the street on Thursday and my buddy is thinking of going. I'm not sure that I've heard a note of them before.

Yeah, they're pretty good. Also really loud as Parker's guitar is pretty damn trebly.

they're ok. the last time i saw them they piped in backing vocals and horns. i don't think rock bands should play pre-recorded music tracks live, so i was not thrilled.

So, are you going? I say go for it. I've always enjoyed them when I've seen them.
