I ended buying a MacAllan Cask Strength, a Balvenie Portwood, a Talisker, and something else.

Had a Glenlivet Nadurra 16 year last night. A little slight considering the price point.

Yeah, you know, a lot of the ages aren't THAT much different, especially for the price points. This ads some complexity.

It was an impressive purchase. Glad I was there to bear witness.

I can relate. Wine & Booze have displaced Music as my largest discretionary budget item and the ability to buy impulsively online is downright dangerous. I almost ordered a bottle of that connemara tentoze was recommending today along with 5 bottles of wine before I remembered that I have 17 bottles of wine that I've bought but haven't picked up yet.

The Nadurra you're going to want to drink with a splash of water and wait for the louching.

At or near that price, I prefer the 15 year old French Oak. The 18 year old is a bit steeper, but well worth it. Drink it neat.

Don't let anybody tell you red wine doesn't go with fried chicken...as long as you get the extra spicy.

Drinking the rest of this case and never buying it again.
Although I think this would work well as a base for a pizza dough.
It has this weird "biscuity/bready" aroma that would likely compliment the pastry and be fitting for the occasion.

Really wish I could have a beer. It's only been 12 days, but I feel like it's been an eternity. In the fridge, I have two Flying Dog "In Heat Wheat" Hefe and two Flying Dog "Old Scratch" Amber Lager. Liver and spleen are still inflamed from Mono, so I have to lay off. Read that I shouldn't drink until 4 weeks after I start feeling better. Ugh.

It's time for the monthly beer dinner at my favorite bar tonight, it's the folks from Terrapin bringing 14 or 15 different brews, draft and bottled, paired with an eight course dinner. Om nom. Drink till around midnight, then up before dawn for 8 AM surgery tomorrow- I should be in a perfect frame of mind.
