holy Top Gun 80's.... i should've known seventh tree was an anomaly after digging into her back catalogue. i guess i was just hopeful. oh well.

um, linkage? I know it'll probably be crap (see: Rocket), but I just want to hear for myself. As for back catalog, did you ever listen to her debut album Felt Mountain? Significantly different (more moody) than her later dancier efforts.

yeah, i did check out felt mountain, and i do at least like that more than the others. and i don't hate any of it - she's got a killer voice - it's just that seventh tree took my so completely by surprise and is probably one of my favorite albums of the last few years. i know that most goldfrapp fans hate that album too, so it's not really a surprise.

Thank you for the link. I liked Seventh Tree too. I'd say her worst albums, imo, are Black Cherry and Supernature (although there were some nice slow burners on each of those, the album as a whole didn't necessarily coalesce).
