Athens GA's own! They were just getting started when I split town for Teh Great White North. Seems like they made a good IPA, if I recall.

If they put you under, you might want to mention to the anesthesiologist the last time you drank.

In reality, I doubt I'll end up having more than the equivalent of about 3 beers total. I'm not that crazy about the Terrapin varieties I've had in the past- it's a lot more about the food for me, which is always excellent. Just in case, my lady has the power to tell them to pull the plug.

Jealous. Their Golden Ale is one of my favorite brews.

There were some seriously shitty beers poured last night. Or, I guess I should say there were quite a few beers that I didn't care for. Most of it went in the swill bucket on our table, and I bet I didn't even make the equivalent of 2 beers total. About the only one I really liked
was their take on a Saison-style farmhouse ale. Oddly enough, my lady liked more of them than me, and she doesn't even like beer. Ixnay on the errapin-Tay.

I do enjoy Bell's, but considering the price and taste, there are cheaper equivalent regional alternatives.
...and the Two-Hearted, while I understand that this is nowhere near an IPA,
the hops are still distracting.
In summary: I try too hard to like this beer.

Touche'
Is the selection really that lacking?
In my limited "Southern'" drinking experiences
I get sick of Abita after a week. ...and that's the extent.
Should ask, anything particularly interesting in regards to booze in any form from those parts?

We just passed a bill in the Legislature last year allowing beer to be 6%+, so stuff like Bell's is newfangled and awesome.

I mean, I can get you some moonshine if you want....

We have a few local brewpubs and the like, but nothing worth writing home (or Obner) about, you know?

I did get some Muscadine wine the other day.

Actually the Muscadine sounds interesting.

Some unique varieties grown 'round here that the growers completely fuck up; but I've given 'em a try.
Either way, I guess I've been spoiled coming from the "Drink When You're Bored" Midwest
Ridiculously quality selection.

But. I'd still chug clean moonshine.
